Anyone selling tpms in the Chicago area.?

I have some in OEM wheels with tires (4500mi)... Unlikely they'll ever be used again unless we use them on my wife's Prius. :)

Why do people care if this light is on their dashboard? Just curious....

For me, its just annoying and distracting when it's on, particularly where it is located.

Isn't your traction control light on all the time though? Or are you actually driving with that shit on?


I get the light, but once the TCS light is always on anyway, I don't really see the problem.

Because I don't want a bright yellow light on in my new car if I can help it.

No I don't just drive around with my traction control off.. I turn it off when I feel like it and then when I'm done it goes back on.

But why would you ever want it on? I don't get it.

Because there are times when it can and will save you and I don't always want to **** around in the car. For example, there's next to no point in having it off in my normal commute to work.

No, and yes.

If I wanted to drive without it all the time I would have bought a car old enough not to have it.

I can't believe people are driving around with traction control on, so this is all foreign to me. I ONLY bought this car over a Nissan 350Z because the traction control IS fully defeatable. By not fully defeating traction control (every trip), you're essentially overlooking best feature this car has to offer.

I think its great it is fully defeatable even if that does require the "peddle dance", just don't see the need to have it off all the time.

You'll also notice I have the 6AT in mine, so its all about personal preference. This is primarily a commuter car for me, so it meets my needs as is, and allows me to reconfigure when I want it reconfigured.

So if most trips never trip the TC I'm not enjoying the car, on or off? I don't understand how the TC takes away any of the best features of the car as I crawl between parked cars and oncoming traffic, scale large speed bumps, and generally feel lucky to hit 30mph... Or improves the hours on the highway I'll see on the way to events...

By fully defeating traction control every trip I'd just be wasting time. Lots of time, assuming you mean the pedal dance... And if you don't... I guess I'm the one amazed you're making such a fuss and are not actually defeating TC fully...

But if this is your only purpose with the car, your life is probably miserable. This is not a car to drive in rush hour traffic, scale speed bumps, etc etc. I find myself doing these things though, but I never find my TC on. Even being stuck in the snow, you're better off with TC OFF, than ON. I just don't know of any scenario (other than driving home in the rain on the freeway in sub 40 degree temps on Rivals) that I would EVER want the stability control to be turned ON. It's 7 seconds of holding a button, I assumed everyone did this when driving this car....? Otherwise, I might as well have bought a Camry or Accord.


FYI pedal dance is essentially useless in my opinion.. Other than lifting a tire at high speed on an actual road courses curbing, you will never trigger anything on the car that will activate any kind of aids beyond turning them off by simply holding down the two buttons. Even in autocross I've found the pedal dance essentially useless, but driving around on the street as electronics violently grab the brakes mid corner when the throttle is applied seems even more pointless to me.
