You can also get an Openflash Tablet and get it tuned at a shop? :)

Peak hp gains will vary due to variance between cars, dynos and testing conditions. But usually expect a max gain of 10-15hp at high RPM (~7400) and a considerable improvement in torque between 2500-4000rpm. Our OTS maps pretty much redue the size of the infamous torque dip by 50% which makes for a much more responsive and drivable car.

Cheers

What is your goal, short-term and long-term?

Exutek has many more features and is more "in depth"

however

OFT is on its way to becoming more "in depth" with its continuation of adding more features, specifically to accommodate forced induction as well.

The general consensus is that Ecutek is much more widely used to custom tune (particularly for FI) because of its vast capabilities, however, tuners still hate tuning with Ecutek.

I would wager that there are now more FI cars running OFT than any other tuning device. That's due to sheer the number of SBD turbo, Vortech and Phantom ESC kits on the roads, most of which run the OFT.

Sooooo, can I schedule a stop at your shop so I can get a custom tune from you?! :)

Yes, all custom dyno tuning is done in Hayward which isn't too far away from the office. Just call the office or email sales@openflashperformance.com to make an appointment :)

For me the only significant advantage of the EcuTek is being able to run a Flex Fuel kit so I wouldn't have to reflash depending on what fuel I'm using.

Other than that, I'm very happy with my OFT. I use it on my BRZ and also used it on my '06 Miata I had previously. In both cases it provided noticeable gains over the stock tune.

That's a pretty bold statement, considering EcuTek was the only tuning solution for this platform for several years before OFT was an option, especially for a Forced Induction application. Any market data to go with the statement?

OkieSnuffBox 02-26-2015 02:54 PM

Several years? These cars haven't even been for sale for 3 years.

EDIT: Not to mention, do you have any market data to say that EcuTek has that market cornered?

Allow me to clarify...EcuTek was the only tuning solution for this platform and forced induction for a couple of years before OFT offered a forced induction tune.

As for market data, I didn't make any claims.
