Tinted!

So the BRZ needed tint. And who am I to deny a reasonable request? I went with 35% all around this time. I usually stay legal, but this time the 90+ degree heat may have had something to do with my decision. :P

There will be a quiz.

Did you notice something else about the After picture?

EDIT: Forgot to add something the tint installer discovered. The door switches act strangely; just disconnecting them doesn't work. With the door open, press the door switch in to raise the window. Then while holding in the switch, remove the bolt that holds the switch to the chassis. That will disconnect the switch and leave the window up. If you don't hold the button in, the window will stay down. THen you can just use tape to hold the switch in place until the tint is cured.

Painted (tinted?) the side little ducts black! And orange side markers!

Looks good! :D

Draco-REX 06-10-2012 08:45 AM

The fender "vents" are the same. But I got some scrap pieces of headlight tint and covered the side markers.

I did a pretty bad job of it so I'm going to try again at some point.

Added a piece of info to the first post for future reference..

Draco, what part of Ohio are you from? If you're around me, I'd be curious who installed your tint!

I'm near you. I went to A2Z tint. It's a bit of a drive, but they are recommended by the local car enthusiasts, and they could schedule me in on a Saturday without having to wait a month. Give them a call:

Yousef did a really good job.

That looks great! I'm not sure whether I should go with the smoked or clear side markers on my WRB.

Nate219BRZ 06-10-2012 02:52 PM

How much did they charge?

Draco-REX 06-10-2012 02:55 PM

$259 for full ceramic.

Where'd you buy a sun shade from? I've been looking and no luck. Is it a universal/generic one?

Universal accordion-fold from Advance Auto Parts. The Standard size fits, not the Jumbo.
