Found this '13 BRZ in Brampton...

As you know, I am actually looking for new, but I stumbled into this one the other day. I haven't seen it in person (it not close to where I live) but it seems rather modified. Hood, vents, no spoiler, winter wheels etc..
I wonder what the story behind this one is. Why trade it in at a Ford dealership?

Was it a car from a forum member by any chance?

Yea looks like Hark's

Guru Woodman 02-24-2015 11:09 AM

So what's the story behind this?
I'm pretty new here and looked up his posts, but he deleted a lot and by the looks of it he was trying to part it out.

Supercharged brz parted out back to stock as much as possible. Pretty normal for performance cars that are used on car lots

Totally Hark's. I stumbled upon it the other day while cruising autotrader.

I don't remember what he was trading it in on.

I have parts from this car in my car now lol.

Guru Woodman 02-24-2015 12:45 PM

I bet he traded it in on a Mustang.
I thought that it might have been an option if a new one doesn't work out. But I think I will pass.

Hey Man,

Yup that's my car, I've really started to miss it as of late, but I'm happy with the mustang, two completely different cars. To be fair I babied that car quite a bit. There's still the side markers, spoiler delete, reverse lockout, EUDM armrest, rear view camera, carbon fiber hood, complete custom audio system (JL / Focal / Kicker). It was super charged and yea there was some spirited driving, but sadly I never got to track it. 15000km in two should tell you the deal. Also, those fenders will turn heads sir.

If you're looking to buy it there's a few things you can point out for them to bring the price down a bit lol let me know.

Tcoat 02-24-2015 01:22 PM

Hell I would buy that in a heartbeat!
Especially when the previous owner still stands behind it (figuratively not literally)!

Harks car would be pretty mint.

Ha, cool. That didn't take long. Yes, the car looks mint and has some great upgrades. That's why it caught my attention. I haven't seen it in person yet (it is a bit of a drive) but from what I can see it is a one of a kind. Those fenders and spoiler delete did it for me.
The only thing holding me back a bit is the supercharger history and spirited driving. I know these engines are sturdy but I'd prefer to do the spirited driving myself, especially on a virgin motor. (no offense).
That is why a lot of options fell off the radar so far and I pretty much settled on just buying new. The art of driving (a manual at that) is dying and I cannot tolerate automotive abuse.
But you apparently have a good reputation so I might have to reconsider.
I have to say that I am not into this 'scene' to much. I hate to admit it but I am too old (just turned 51, :iono: how that happened).
I have a long history with all sorts of cars & bikes and am a pretty hard core car enthusiast, which makes shopping for another vehicle disappointing. Dealers are oblivious and previous owners are usually lying idiots.
To put things in perspective, the BRZ will be a replacement for a Lexus LX470. An amazing vehicle, but I miss the back to basics driving and as far as I can tell, a BRZ might be the ticket.

So yeah, if you have some pointers and info to haggle the price that would be awesome. Extra pics would be nice too, so far the only thing I have seen is what the dealer has on their website.

Youngster!
I do hope you understand that coming from a LX these cars will seem very back to basics.
Having said that, I spend around 14 hours a week in mine and could not be happier!
Read through some of harkbrz's old threads and would still buy that car in a second, prior supercharger or not.

haha, youngster, thank you. I am just guessing here but the average age of FRS/BRZ owner would be on the low side.

Yes, it will be quite a change but I've done stranger switches and my daily driver in the summer is a 1977 Toyota Hilux. So I am guessing that a BRZ will be a starship compared to that.
