What should i do?
2 Attachment(s)
I have 2 10" JL audio subwoofers with a 450watt Kenwood amp that i took off from my old scion tc. The problem i have it does not fit in the FRS trunk. Should i cut a inch of the box from the bottom or just buy a single 10" box from amazon and only use one speaker?

Since you already have two subs, might as well cut off the excess inch. Or, you can sell one of the subs which you can use to purchase the single 10 box. Good luck!

You Could check out integrity concepts. They make corner load enclosures that should hold the 10s

It's not going to affect sound quality or anything if i cut it?

You should try to keep the internal volume of the enclosure within the manufacturers recommended range for best results. Making the enclosure too small could greatly affect the sound quality and the woofers long term performance. JL lists all of their woofers net enclosure specs on their website, add the sub displacement to the recommended volume and this is the gross volume each woofer chamber should have, measure the inside length, width, and height of your estimated cut size and multiply them then divide that number by 1728, stay within a close percentage of that number. If you find that it works out and decide to proceed with a cut, peel the carpet back and see if you can pull off the lid or floor by prying in the seam. Make a clean level cut around the perimeter of the walls (not through the carpet, carpet should be peeled back) and then reglue (with wood glue) the piece back on and nail or screw it. Caulk the inside seam, clean up the sawdust from the inside of the carpet and reglue it down with spray glue, or recarpet the box all together. This is the best way to make a clean modification that will not have leaks. Dan - Integrity Concepts |

This the speakers that i own. Is it okay if i buy a box that is larger then recommended? I think i just want to use one speaker and it says there that it supports jl audio speakers. Thanks |
