Looking for a good deal(er) in Ontario

Hey guys.

I am in the process of buying a BRZ
I live about 40 minutes north of Kingston. There are a few Subaru dealers in my area. One in Kingston, two in Ottawa and one in Belleville.

I visited the dealer in Kingston and I was pleasantly surprised.
They had a demo for sale a 2014 Sport Tech. Although a discount is tempting I am still considering to buy new.

Do you have experiences with these dealers?

Whatever you do, please stay away from Ogilvie in Ottawa.
To go back, I'd rather pay full price than the amazing deal I got just to get jerked around a bunch. Their sales manager takes Fridays off. Really? I work at Hawkesbury Mazda, which is the only Mazda between Cornwall, Montreal and Ottawa, so we're pretty busy. I can't imagine the sales manager taking off on Friday, that's the day with the most deliveries!

Anyways, I could go more into detail about my "horror story" if you want.
The guys in the Ottawa club have had better experiences at Otto's, which is the other Ottawa Subie dealer

Great, thanks for the input. That's the info I need.
Okay, so Ogilvie's is out. If you care to elaborate, please do.
I honestly think a good dealer experience is worth a small premium (but not too much lol). I have an automotive background too so I tend to observe it differently then your average customer.

I presume Otto's is related to Otto BMW, am I right? I have been there and was treated well.
I'd love to hear some more about Kingston too, which would be the most convenient location for me.

Little question not worth starting up a new thread.

Does the 2014 or 2015 BRZ come with TPMS? I'm asking because I will definitely need a set of winter tires and rims and I prefer not buying an extra set of sensors.

I don't think the Canadian BRZs come with TPMS. My 2014 Sport-Tech didn't.

Neither did mine

Perfect!

Is there anybody here that has used sites like CarCostCanada or Unhaggle and the like. I's like to know what the best deal is I could get and I wonder how much $ the dealer has to play with

My situation would be that I pay cash and I have no trade in.

Really? They don't have the tire pressure monitors? Pretty much a requirement on cars for a few years now and the FRS has it so that is surprising.

I bought my frs from the same method, general you're looking at invoice plus 3%. Throw that offer to the manager, not sales. If he has shit sitting in lot, almost a yes. I don't think you can go lower than the above but the brz definitely had around 2500 bargain range. If you're paying cash, you can squeeze even deeper discounts.

I'm so happy the BRZ doesn't. I check my tire pressure all the time so I don't need a light to tell me otherwise. Also makes changing tires over much easier!

Ya really! I am just amazed they don't. I didn't bother with sensors when I swap for the winter but the little tiny light isn't imposing and I don't even notice it. Be nice not to have it at all though.

Great, thanks. They don't have them in stock and being a 2015 he would have to order one.

I did the Unhaggle thing online and this is my report:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...0221143801.pdf

So the dealer invoice is $27,218.00. Add fees and 3%, subtract incentives and I am looking at $ 33500 OTD. Am I right?

Yup, that's around the price I haggled at with accessories. Throw it at the manager, sales can't do shit for this kind of negotiating.

Otr msrp is about 35500+

I am a sales rep at a Kia dealership.

You will have to deal with a sales rep (as most managers won't take customers directly), but he will have to involve his manager, as sales reps have zero power to make decisions for pricing, at least at 99% of dealerships out there.

Not true about the cash buyer having deeper discounts available to them though; cash used to be king at car dealerships. Now, dealerships actually prefer if you finance, because they get a kick-back from the bank for organizing financing through them.

CarCostCanada and Unhaggle are not words that most dealerships like to hear (obviously because it eliminates potential profit), but a deal is a deal. Those tools are there for people who find it worth-while; you have to pay to sign up, but it could potentially save you a bit of money, so probably worth it in the end to you as the consumer.
