Lower or 18"??

Hey guys/gals, I am trying to decide what I should do. I don't know if I should either lower my FR-S or get 18"? any feedback is good. My current exhaust hangs a little low so if I do lower it I won't be able to lower much. Just tryna go for a nice look. Everything regarding the wheels is stock.

Only photos I have of the side of my car.

Thanks in advance!

My vote is lower (RCE yellow's), then 17's later on. Maybe some spacers till then if you.

I say some black wheels to match all the black accents. Like what you've done. Goes well with the red paint.

Here's a thread of aftermarket wheels with stock suspension if you'd like to see what it looks like: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28017

I personally think the car looks very good when it's lowered on stock wheels, but I know the stocks aren't everyone's cup of tea. You'd definitely want spacers though.

What exhaust do you have? I can't imagine you would have clearance issues. I have a Tomei 60s which curves pretty low under the axle, but I haven't had any issues.

I have 18s, and no lowered suspension. Build thread in my sig if you want pics. I prefer the 18s since my town has some horrible dips.

Lowered 1" with spacers and you might be happy with the stock wheels for a while. You'll also save a ton of money.

IMHO ....you're car looks just fine ... I'd suggest you just leave it alone .....;)

Every time I think about lowering my own car, I keep reminding myself of what a joy it is to not worry much about drive ways, and not having to crawl over speed humps.

For a car that rides so low it really does have an amazing amount of clearance.

In all honesty your car looks great as is in my eyes.

I went 18's first and had coilovers ready to install but then one dark night, I accidentally drove over one of those parking humps, and then I was like "nah".... put the coilovers up for sale the next week

Lower an inch or so and keep the stockers!
I find that clearance lowered an inch and a bit is fine 98% of the time. (the other 2% can be a real bitch though)

Yea, spacers are definitely needed. I have the J2 Quad Tip exhaust right now. Thanks

I did both about 1 month ago. I went with RCE Yellows (installed myself), and Enkei Raijin 18" wheels.

I am very pleased with the results.
