"Best" drop in filter
Already found the FT86 speedfactory thread comparing HKS, aFe and K&N. How do these compare to SuperTek, Cosworth, APEXi, Avo, Blitz, Perrin and TRD? There needs to be a full-on shootout on drop in filters.

none, spend the money for a cold air intake
|
What do you mean by best? If you are looking for horsepower, I'm not sure there will ever be enough of a difference between drop-in filters to justify one over the other.
|
Sti one, it's made in China.

I just replace the stock air filter every 10k kilometers. |
I have the KNN one lol and to be honest I don't really notice a difference at all. But according to the dyno you gain 5whp so in my opinion I believe that 40 bucks is a pretty good deal for 5hp

Drop-in. 50$ for 5 hp, or 500$ for 8hp with a CAI. Unless your in a professional caliber world racing series, you are just wasting a bunch of money. Cost for gain is way better on a drop-in filter.

There is a comparison thread of about 8 or 10 of them on here someplace. Will try to find it but if memory serves me the results were about the same across the board so it really just boils down to personal preference.
I have the TRD and like it. |

What CAI costs $500? Most are in the $300 range, and you can buy the AirRaid for $200. |

I switched from the k&n to a cosworth for filtering capability. It really doesn't matter which one you choose for power wise. You can buy oem high flow for perfect fit.
