Koji's Kraftwerks BRZ - Widebody soon
Alright, so this first introductory post is just a little background on me and my car history.
Long time lurker and also a long time Subaru owner. How It Began Basically it all started back in 2010 when I got my first Subaru, which was a 1998 Impreza RS. Because of the chassis, I was immediately in love and obsessed with small, lightweight, nimble and compact cars. I never really had too much car knowledge at the time, just your basic information. It took me a very long time to figure out my options, until a friend suggested I get a Subaru. I always thought Subaru were way out of my budget for what I was looking for, but he mentioned there were cheap 2 door Imprezas that fitted my criteria. I was surprised to hear of a 2 door Impreza that was in my budget. Then Entered : http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...18161621-1.jpg Nothing too special. The only mods were: springs, STI catback, light weight crank pulley and of course my favorite bumper for the GC chassis, the WRC sports bumper (also known as the narrow 22b bumper). It ended up getting totaled from a guy who ran a stop sign and t-boned me into a utility pole. Long story short, I got another RS and made it a V6 STI replica. Enter : http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...psc67fffba.jpg Only mods on this RS were: V6 STI lip, JDM grill and 22b replica spoiler. I've always loved my RS. I never had a dull day driving them, but for some reason I decided to get rid of this RS for a 2005 Legacy GT. Enter : http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps8d126bf8.jpg I came across a really good deal on this LGT and decided to sell my RS for it. The power difference was drastic and I loved the feeling of boost, which is why I think I got it in the first place. All of my buddies drove STIs and WRXs and I felt like I was missing out. The LGT was nice and luxurious, but it wasn't me. It was too long and heavy for me. So I decided to get rid of this too and go back to the lighter chassis. Enter : http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps2f206853.jpg Now it may not look as pretty as my old RS did, but it did have a good party piece: http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps72b7b4a3.jpg This was the last car I owned before my BRZ. It was a 1998 Impreza L with a 2002 WRX swap. It was the best of both worlds. Lightweight and boosted. The only thing that sucked were the suspensions and HVAC. I was a broke, part time worker/college student and I couldn't afford anything for my car at the time. However, I absolutely loved the personality of the car, but not having A/C and getting destroyed by potholes sucked. The BRZ : After getting hired full time I had 2 options in my mind in terms of vehicles. Either fix my Impreza or just simply buy a BRZ. With absolutely no free time anymore on my hands, it was an easy decision to make. Sold the Impreza and picked up the BRZ the following week. The reason I wanted the BRZ was because obviously the BRZ was a lightweight and nimble car. The way I felt in the car when I test drove it was unbelievable. I've driven many cars and especially Subarus, but the BRZ to me, felt perfect. The way the car connects to the road and the feeling I get when I enter a corner is something else. Super easy to install with no headaches. What mods do you have and how much power are you pushing? |

http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...pssixxflmz.jpg 2011 STI limited spec c Enkeis. Also ordered some Project Kics 15mm adapters to fit these on. |

for the dyno run. |
Okay, so had to change out the Project Kics adapter for some ICS adapters.
They came in today and I decided to put on my STI Enkeis. Going to be ordering some coilovers soon to help with the gap. Side note: OEM Subaru lock nuts suck ass http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...pskp7f42xg.jpg http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...psm1pd0mju.jpg http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps8ekiiaxv.jpg |
Got my Avo lip on with some stabilizers.
Love the aggressive look, however it does scrape quite a bit. http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...psukeg70bq.jpg |
Did a couple of things while I was preparing for Wicked Big Meet:
I installed my Crawford AOS, put red pin stripe around my grill and installed Dzus latches on my bumper. http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...pshxjtliew.jpg It's definitely a lot easier to install the AOS before going supercharged. Getting the belt and ac compressor off/on is a nightmare while keeping the blower and mount on. http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...pscmse2fwm.jpg The red stripe was inspired by the BRZ STi concept at the NY auto show. Wanted to give the front some color. http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...psyp75o8ki.jpg And finally, I was sick of the bumper sag and so I went with the Dzus latches. Thinking of picking up an extra bumper, since the AVO lip will shovel snow like crazy. http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...pswzwvjbmc.jpg |
