Damn :( , I don't think it's totaled, but wow it's going to be costly.

raven1231 02-16-2015 02:24 PM

totaled....

swarb 02-16-2015 02:24 PM

how many airbags popped? how much suspension damage? looks pretty bad. I hope you are ok.

adamg 02-16-2015 02:26 PM

airbags, front bumper, hood, both fenders, quarter panel, headlight, rear bumper, plus whatever else got damaged, id say its totaled. But the other guys insurance should cover it 100%

perfect car for someone wanting to build a rocket bunny

I bet that's going to be close. If this was a 2013 with 30,000 miles on it sure, but the top level BRZ, 2015 with less than 5k still has a lot of value overall.

Did you actually hit the car that you were trying to avoid? I'm guessing you spin and bounced off a couple walls.

Did that car stop? Were there any witnesses that stopped and waited to speak with the police on your behalf?

It might be totaled, but it's hard to say. It does look like a solid amount of damage. Insurance companies determine if the car is totaled by looking at the amount of damage vs the value of the car. They begin to start considering totaling it around 75%.

Youre going to want to check your payoff value on the loan of you financed the car. If you didn't put a large chunk down or a considerable trade in amount, you're really going to either be happy that you have gap coverage or miserable that you don't.

I hope it all works out for you. Keep us posted.

i didnt crash, OP did lol

If the oncoming car didn't actually strike you, it's going to be hard to get them to pay out. You might succeed if you have his info and someone saw it. Unfortunately in a situation like this it's almost better to get sideswiped, depending on speed, so there's no question of fault. It's a good thing you didn't hit another car or you could be liable for the damage to your car AND the other car. Good luck!

What other guy? Sounds like a single car accident from his description.

Yeah, airbags are very expensive to repair and replace, sounds like it is totaled. Was there any other car involved or just your car?
