Is my experience normal?
I bought my car pre owned 6 months ago with 6k on it. We had a family emergency where I was driving tons for a few months. I am now at 26k miles. I have done every service to the T. However my car is in the shop for the 4th time. I had a CEL and traction light come on last week. It took the dealer 2 days to "find the problem" they think it is some type of a vacuum module. They have to order parts. Toyota may send a rep out if that doesn't fix it. They say that if it wasn't under warranty they are now up to 2k (just in labor the first 2 days not counting the part or install) that ontop of the fuel pump they replaced twice I am at 5K+/- in repairs. Is this typical? I like the car but not sure that I want to keep it out of warranty if that's typical. :sigh:

its not typical. i have a 2014, owned for 8-9 months. 13k miles total, 3k of those miles boosted. yes i have a slightly squeaky fuel pump, but i dont care because its not broken. My car has never been to a dealer since the day i bought it. i do everything myself. no problems so far.

Your 36 month/36,000 mile should still be effective at the minimum of 2015 (assuming the car was first put into service in 2012)
Nothing should be paid out of pocket. |

It seams like whenever people actually have to use their warranty they believe they drive a ticking time bomb |

Obviously is not typical. A simple search would find you that you're part of an overwhelmingly small minority of people with '13 problems. Sorry you're going through it but idk why make a thread about it rather than go contribute to the conversation on those bigger threads.

It just baffles me that people feel the need to think they're SO special to warrant their own thread... sorry bro you aren't that special
