New Louver and Side Louver designs

Saw this online after seeing a RS 1.0 guy gauging interest in it. They are planning a group buy later and I'm totally going to pick some up since they'll be way cheaper than the TRD ones.

https://www.facebook.com/profile.php...7894634&ref=70

Currently 500 bucks and designing now.

Crazypinoy9 02-15-2015 10:33 PM

what' still in design right now seems to be the side louvers. the rear louvers product page say 50 in stock. Saw this earlier too and was thinking about picking up the rears.

No, both rear and side are in design. Been following this for awhile and the person is slowly updating it.

I don't think much though was put into the designs on the qtr glass/side louvers. How do they intend to make the individual louver go into the body without removing the glass?

Scroll down their FB page a little bit. They have a poll going on asking how people prefer to be able to mount the louver. Popular choice so far seems to be 3M latches.

That isn't what I'm refering too.

See the qtr louver it sits flush with the front window glass. The individual vents go inwards as if there is no glass behind them.

Here is an example of a flush set for the mustang. In order to have this flush style one has to remove the factory glass. http://www.americanmuscle.com/flush-...dow-vents.html

It is just drawings for now. I'm sure prototypes will be made and sent off to early buyers if need be. When I get them I'm getting them painted Yuzu

adamg 02-16-2015 04:58 PM

excited about these

Koa 02-16-2015 05:01 PM

mustang wannabes

...for real though those sketches do look nice.. gives the side profile that much needed aggressiveness/bristly look

It's been over 3-4-5 months and the guy is still in the design/vote phase. Good luck to those who "pre-order" an invisible product with no samples whatsoever. I don't think he has any idea how much it costs to move something like this into production. Molds aren't cheap. Production isn't cheap. I hope he has lots of free money to put into this. Oh wait, lets just collect money and pre-order invisible products.

If you really want this product, ask someone like @Extreme Dimensions who actually has the capability to get it done.

Interested in a rear louver! Too bad I'm in Norcal or else I'd offer up my car for fitment/testing. I bet there would be actually be a lot of interest in a cost-effective rear louver - something similar to the TRD louvers but without the TRD price tag.

Not sure about side louvers though.

a few people already make the rear window louver including the company below so probably wont happen sorry!

That price is too steep but if someone can make one for $500 and below will attract more people

That's actually the TRD louvers. As far as I know, Nigel imports items, not develop them.

oso_25 02-22-2015 12:31 AM

What is so hard on designing them? Just get it going on a design project and get someones to make it. Or if that maybe find someone with a 3D printer and make it happen. Can maybe make it out of alumn but just would be afraid of it messing up the glass.

ort895 04-05-2016 02:38 PM

I've given up hope on another company making the louvers. $900 dollars for a set is a ripoff.
Wonder if you could make them out of a resin and then wrap them in carbon fibre or something.
and yes i know....bumping an old thread.

Just try to get as close to the TRD model as possible lol, that other guy who made louvers made them with less fins and it didn't look right

I would say look at the prototype TRD rear louvers. Much cleaner. Get rid of that cut out for the brake light and maybe consider the position of the wheelhaus and international light relocation.

It's also making the damn thing light enough. Where as the TRD one seems to be a platic, i'd probably have to do it out of metal.

Lorne 04-09-2016 12:08 PM

I'm actually working on set... got a prototype and everything, I've got the basic shape down, now all I need to do is the actual louvers (this is for the small rear window).

That's awesome, what are you making it out of?

Lorne 04-10-2016 09:07 PM

ABS or styrene, 3m tape... I'll eventually get around to finishing the prototype this summer hopefully.

DinkinFlicka 08-12-2016 12:55 PM

Bumping this, don't give a damn.

Any progress? I've wanted louvers on my car since I was a kid riding in my dad's 91 Talon.
