How to Wash & Wax During Winter
Hey I got a 2013 Scion FR-S and I live in Canada. I want to keep it looking nice and clean most of the time. During the winter its a little harder so I just pressure wash it once a week. I also want to wax it once a month. Whats the best way to wash and wax during the winter?
Thanks! |

Optimum no rinse and ultima waterless wash. Wax I'd recommend a sealant that will stand up to the elements a bit better like menzerna power lock or sonax polymer bet shield.

i usually just use a nice pressure washer with a foam cannon, i wont touch the car with a wash mit during the winter months, only because its to damn cold and im a baby with the cold
and just like @Ec1990 said, sonax polymer net shield does wonders, spray on, wipe off and protected for 4-6 months |
I have a wash bay at the dealership I work at in the shop. So I have no issues with winter washing :iono:

If you have a garage, mix ONR with hot water. Works very well.
If you don't have a garage, find a touchless wash to go to. |
Okay I'll definitely give ONR and Sonax a try. I'll take pics to show you how I did thanks!

Doesn't snow and is never freezing in SoCal obviously ..but I still use, and only use, ONR year round. I luh dat stuff. No need for a hose or rinse ever again.

Can I buy a spray can, put ONR in it. Spray my car, wait and the rinse it with water??

ive Notice ONR wont penetrate the dirt bye itself, if you want to go this route for the winter months look into Auto Finesse Citrus Power Grime Remover before going over with ONR http://www.detailersdomain.com/Auto-...ter_p_774.html [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KeRYmvPsr7s"]Polished Bliss: Auto Finesse Citrus Power Demo Video - YouTube[/ame] |

Problem is.. my garage doesn't have any drain nor any faucet. What I do is fill my 2x5 Gal. bucket with warm water and throw it at the car with a little cup LOL. Then I apply soappy water (Gold Class Meguair) and throw it at the car. I wait 5-10 minutes and then I rinse it off with water from the bucket and then I leave it to dry.... PURPOSE: Salt removal, not cleaning the car. The car remains pretty dirty and I want to have different efficient cleaning technique. I wan't to remove most of the dirt, not all. I will do that in summer. So any other technique that I can use without touching the car yet, since there is so much dirt...? -- Also, what about the underbody.... How would I was that? |
Oh wait, I just got the purpose of the Citrus Power... I need something like that. Something that would cut in the body contaminant and break the dirt bonds so when I throw water it falls right off the car.
Any available in Canada or in Meguair line product Dx |
