SON1C v3 -> 2015 Subaru BRZ Series Blue Build
Hi ft86 this is my first post here on this forum. I purchased my 2015 Subaru BRZ Series Blue from Fitzgerald Subaru in Gaithersburg Maryland a few days ago.
But first. . Where did I come from? https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7306/...1035c784_o.jpg by Son1cWax, on Flickr To sum my car career up I bought a 2001 V6 Mustang when I was 16 and then upgraded into a 2003 Sonic Blue Mustang GT as a 19th birthday present to myself, and then as I closed in on 22 I finally reached the top of my hierarchy dreams and bought a 2003 Sonic Blue Cobra "Termi" mustang. Unfortunately my long time dream car redacted. redacted 700 miles. https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8621/...f9bc843e_h.jpg2003 Sonic Blue Mustang Cobra by Son1cWax, on Flickr https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8633/...a45945e5_h.jpg2003 Sonic Blue Mustang Cobra by Son1cWax, on Flickr As far as my Mustang GT I loved it for what it was, but to advance my build it'd be so much money to be just another s/c 2v. So many aspects of the car just left me wanting more. 2012 - Early 2014 https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7307/...0c9250c6_h.jpg1/2014 Dirty SON1C by Son1cWax, on Flickr 2014 - 2015 https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7565/...7e9d0d44_o.jpg by Son1cWax, on Flickr Que scene transition and now it's only two days ago. . https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7413/...c4b13a70_b.jpg2003 Sonic Blue Mustang GT trade-in by Son1cWax, on Flickr After researching all of the cars in my budget range and deciphering what I think I'd like best the BRZ came to the top of the relatively short list. I drove the BRZ and FRS as well as the 4 cylinder mustang v6 & v8 along with looking over the hyundai genesis. The BRZ just really grabbed my interest I think it's beautiful and the World Rally Blue color is phenomenal. In my BRZ research I came across the Series Blue and to be honest I was all for it, the blue interior with blue accent I think flows so beautifully but these cars released in Julyish? 2014 now it's February 2015. . Surely I couldn't find one with some expansive research I found a white one only 5 miles from me in Fairfax, Va which I went to check out the interior to make sure it was worth all of this effort . . sure enough I felt that it was along with the exterior upgrades (mainly the chin spoiler I enjoy). I located two Series Blue in Maryland. I went to the dealership and was sad to see already 50 test drive miles, find out the car has been on the Dealers lot for 203 days! I also briefly checked out the only other Series Blue I could find in the area which was in another maryland dealer 10 miles from the first one. However this one had been hit in their lot! I asked the salesman about it who completely ignored the eye destructing scratches down to the bare panel on the rear damage at least 12 in x 12 in and he said the price is non-negotiable lol -- needless to say I went home and mulled over the Series Blue at the other dealership. . Several days later I decided to go there and throw my deal on the table, they refused but said we could work on the price a bit since it does have a few scratches (relatively minor and keep in mind this is the 1st Series Blue not the second with severe damage) then I illustrated that I would need $6,000 trade-in on my 2003 Mustang GT Premium 83k miles which I believed to be reasonable. After they appraised my car they bumped it to 6k trade-in value no hassle and right then. . I was basically sold. https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8605/...b71b6c00_o.jpg by Son1cWax, on Flickr Fast Forward 5 hours from as I walked into the dealership and 5 hours later walking out to what is now my car. Arrive https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8574/...a6564664_h.jpgBRZ 2015 Day 0 by Son1cWax, on Flickr Depart https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7435/...50e024ec_h.jpg2015 BRZ Day 1 by Son1cWax, on Flickr So as I write this on my third day of ownership I love this car, in my opinion its absolutely perfect aside from being underpowered. However I will add a supercharger or turbo over the next few years and then it will truly be a flawless car. It's a blast to drive, and really feels like the complete package inside and out. Sure I came from 2-3x the power, but this car just puts a smile on my face. I aspire to compete more in autocross and drifting so this car really is the perfect match. I was able to sneak out and shoot some pictures of the car the car yesterday.
