Frankly, 600+ hp in a street legal (in Texas, anyway) 2700 pound car is truly frightening! It is a thing of beauty, though. Massive congratulations!

To put it in comparison, a McLaren P1 has a power to weight around 3.64 lbs per horsepower vs this which has about 4.5 lbs per horsepower.

Now remember this doesn't have the super sophisticated traction control system and computers that the P1 does to control all that power. "Truly frightening!" might be an understatement.

All good man. The whole point of this build is to pave the way for us FA20 guys and push the platform to the limit. Hopefully we all get some good data and insight to help everybody out.

I'd like to see how all that power gets turned into motion. Will there just be a massive burn-out and wall of smoke...wheels spinning ferociously as the rubber refuses to grip?

I met a guy 20 years ago who put a Corvette engine into a Porsche 918. His main issue was keeping rubber in contact with the pavement, and that was with the engine much closer to the rear wheels.

In any case, this build is impressive and I look forward to seeing the results.

Certainly going to need a final drive swap. What you lose in "acceleration" will be made up for by not completely overwhelming the tires.

All you have to do here is pass the inspection, which includes the most superficial emission test I've ever seen. Considering some of the ridiculous trucks I've seen on the road, not to mention the old cars around here belching blue and black smoke, surely this badass FR-S would pass.

How is the gearbox taking 4x the power?

This is literally my dream FRS build. 400whp on 91 pump gas!

Thanks man, definitely appreciate the respect. The gearbox is holding up like a champ, about 250 miles on the build that's really it at this point because of the snow on the ground. I'll let you know more when we leave for TX2K in a couple weeks!

Built for longevity. And track time. And keeping it together while we do the latter. Can't wait to take it to the track and provide some feedback.
