So they say they are releasing this Civic Type R.

They say it's turbo

What's the price for one of these? $45k? Probably not competing for the same market.

Won't even make it to the US, and will probably only have a small volume of units produced anyway.

There have been photos of a Type R testing in the US. It doesn't mean it's going to be sold here, but it wouldn't be too surprising considering the Focus RS is coming soon.

turbo type r... feels weird... doubt it will make its way to the US... but i'm glad Honda is still trying to put out fun cars outside of the nsx. will probably be too pricey though...

question is, will it provide the driving experience that the previous type r's had?

Focus RS meets federal standards for crash safety etc etc. We can be sure of that because it is going to be sold here (confirmed).

Until something official is stated about sales in the US. Its kind of like Kim JongUn farting in the bath tub.

I DON'T CARE!

Sideways&Smiling 02-11-2015 03:19 PM

It's coming to the US, fo' sho.

Do I care? No, FWD.

Do I want them to slap that engine in a new RWD chassis? Yes, immediately.

P.S. I'm guessing $35k-$38k for this.

Sound normal to me, it's just all about big power now for every “ sport car "

That's hardly "big power"... and more and more cars will continue to receive 4 cylinder turbos. It's best for efficiency AND performance. (lighter, smaller engines, allowing lighter, more compact packagings...... and lots of power potential)

I want to look at the article but I cant get the page to load..

Anyways I am actually kind of stoked for this car. The only real reason I havent seriously thought about a new civic for a car is that I find them to be rather.. Ugly lol I miss the golden years of the civic in the 90's and if they could bring that back I would be so happy :)

Doubt it follows the original TYPE-R mantra... Less is more. If it has sound deadening and A/C then its about as useful as the bloatware STI badges on a blue series BRZ.

That's cool, something new for the Honda fanboys. Doesn't even remotely affect my biased, unwavering preference for 86's though :iono:
