And what about tail lights and headlights because a friend of mine is offering me some Valentis and I know how easy it is to install and remove but would it void it? Or is scions warranty only gonna be voided if I do anything mechanically to my car like flash tune etc.

Best way to put it. Anything can void the cars warranty as long as the dealer can prove that particular product caused the problem. With esthetics your pretty much on the safe side. In the PNW I know it's different with headlights and tails cause they need to be dot approved. I think California is more strict than oregon is.

Cool thanks very much for your help I really appreciate it!

Like Chen said, no need to worry too much about aesthetic mods voiding your warranty. Dealer always has to prove that whatever you did is the cause of the failure of which you are trying to warranty.

I have heard of stories of people getting fix-its for Valenti's if they are smoked, as they aren't DOT approved it sounds like? And the smoke is their excuse to look into if they are legal or not. Could be wrong about this, but IIRC they aren't DOT approved. Most Cops wouldn't bat an eye at the tails, and are usually getting you for tint or "loud exhaust" and will only get you for the tails if they are having a bad day.

Valenti's are not DOT approved. However, I would expect very little issues with the red/clear/chrome versions, and only possible issues with the smoked ones. Worse case you swap them out real quick.

Small fix it ticket items can be good and bad. Sometime the cop will give you a fix it ticket instead of a regular ticket.

And sometimes you get a fix it ticket AND a regular ticket haha.

No I have a muffler delete, painted headlights, Lexon tail lights, and the dealer never has a problem seeing me

Before you mod, you should actually read the fine print of your warranty to understand the manufacturer's perspective.

Then, talk to a dealer service department about how they handle warranty claims.

The general answer is "no", however it will do you more good to know how your warranty works.

BTW, your base warranty is 3 years/36000 miles.

That's pretty much it-- if your tranny goes kaput the dealer could say it was your blower which doubled the HP and the tranny wasn't designed for it. But changing tail lights could not logically result in a blown tranny.

However, if you put smoked tails in and then get rear-ended, that driver could claim it wasn't his fault because he didn't see your stoplights, which were illegal.
