Torgue App Cat Temperature
Can anyone confirm the temperature for Cat B 1 S1 (using Torque), after warmed up street use?
|
Usually cats like blankets and warm laps.
I havent checked the full functions of Torque yet, but why would you need to know the temperature during normal load? |
I have a new 2.5" cat back and am interested on the affect of EGT, since we don't have any way to measure the EGT, closest is the cat temp.
|
Cat temp is very very different than EGT. Running rich can lower EGT's but drastically raise temps in the cat.
|
It would be good to get consensus on the normal temperature range.
I have read that the cat temperature should be between 560C/1040F ~ 650C/1202F , street use. Can anyone confirm this on Torque? Does EcuTek OFT show the cat temps? |
Bump, can anyone please confirm the temps they are seeing... thanks

You can get the value using Torgue and ELM Bluetooth adaptor. I would like to know what the temperatures are with a stock exhaust. |

If the ECU is calculating temp it's going to be off by your exhaust change. If you want to know EGT then install a sensor, what you're trying to do here will not give you accurate(or useful) results.

I've been running about 800-1100F on mostly highway and suburban streets. (35-70MPH cruising, very little stop and go, but a good deal of traffic.) Air temps have been 20s-40s, and I'm measuring oil and coolant temps in the 180-200 range once warmed up. The engine, intake, exhaust and tune are all stock. Fuel is 93 AKI.
Here's a chart of my most recent log: |
