How many miles on the car? Lowered? I ask because it seems like the CV joints in these cars are made of cheese and they fail...

Is the sound kind of like a playing card stuck in a bicycle wheel?

I always always check the tires first... easy to get a stone or something caught in the treads causing noise. Once it turned out to be a nail...

Of course, "ticking sound" is rather vague so I could easily be completely off base.

Bone stock never dropped, litteraly a light tick sound. A few ticks at a time, im hearing it could possibly be axle nut

Almost sounds like a decently heavy peace of metal hitting other metal? Doesn't seem to sync with the rotation of the tires or anything?

Mine does that, I am lowered but the install was definitely done right (by a Subaru tech). I thought one of my TPMS sensors was loose since I need to take it in as my light is on even though all the pressure is correct. But yes, it's very annoying.

My BRZ recently started making that noise. I thought I was going insane and I couldn't find anything in regards to that noise. Do you have any ideas as to what/why it's making that card on bicycle wheel noise?

Have you guys checked the tires for nails or other debris? If you have a metal object like a nail protruding, that will cause ticking that increases with speed. It might disappear in higher gears due to road noise. My jeep had issues with ball joints, which caused the exact same symptom. Had me searching the tires for days. Turned out to be ball joints causing the tire to wear so badly it smacked the ground.

Nope :(

It's on the list of things to investigate when the car goes into the dealer for its next oil change.

Must be the buttons on the seats to hold the seatbelts.
