Tein Street Flex installation Help
I tried to search for help on the forum but could not find much on the Tein sport flex initial adjustment. Can anyone help me out and figure out how to make the pre install adjustment. I read the manual but it doesn't specify how the front camber plates should go? It moves around in all directions and not sure if it needs a specific angle. And also any help on how to adjust the springs will be appreciated. I'm trying to save money and not take it to a shop
I'm a total newbie on coilovers, especially tein. my other cars I used d2 and BC and those are basically ready for install. |
the plates should go in, in the same plane as camber, as they are called camber plates. there are 3 bolts on the top plates so you cant really get it wrong as long as it is in the same plane as camber, ie left/right not foward/back.
Spring adjustment? as in preload or height? preload is tight enough to hold the spring so it does not move, but not enough to compress the spring, usually 5-10mm after it touches the spring. height is adjusted at the bottom mounts. |

Might have used the wrong part name. But maybe the pillow ball mount? The manual says to tighten Down the nut but I guess it plate thing swivels around in all directions because the ball. does that make more sense now? Yea and the preload. For BC it was pretty simple to do but the tein manual has all these measurements on where to measure. |
pillow ball mount is made to swivel so under compression there is no binding.

@swarb ok cool thanks wasn't sure if that was normal since the BC I had on my old car recently didn't swivel like that.
