I'm happy to meet up with any of the Norcal folks when they make the trek to Thunderhill, MRLS or Buttonwillow. In fact, I always make a point of introducing myself and hanging out with the FR-S owners when I'm at the track. Each to their own, I guess...

Problem is quantity has a quality all to itself.

I really do fear that the SF group is slowly dying out. At the moment, it is going through a bad slump. And it has been difficult to get new people around the area out. And it is difficult to get enough people out over an extended period of time.

And I agree with a lot of the sentiments spoken by many people on this forum and elsewhere. What makes this car great is also the achilles heel. Because it is such a driver's car, it is not appealing to the average driver. Hence, the bad sales numbers. And to be honest, there are "better" cars in the range of the twins. I spoke to a Lyft driver today who had a FRS and S2K. No surprise, he preferred the S2K. Subaru and Toyota could have spent some more money to fix certain issues like the laggy throttle response. I do not mind a couple or few thousand more dollars.
