DC Area Turbo Installers

Hi all,

I am trying to make a choice between PTuning and Pure Automotive Performance for installing a turbo in my 2015 FRS. Any suggestions here would be appreciated.

These 2 companies seem to have the most FT86 experience in the DC area.

Go with PTuning. I'm positive you won't regret it.

PTuning has a good reputation and I've had other work done there. Not familiar with Pure. I would trust PTuning for sure. I would also post on the regional forum.

Hello,

Please let us know on how we can be of assistance in your turbo installation. We've manufactured our own FRS/BRZ turbo system, and have worked on many others by other manufacturer as well. Many FRS/BRZ customers in the DC area have been here at our shop In Manassas, VA for installation, and left very satisfied.

Feel free to PM me with questions, or email us at sales@ptuning.com

Thanks,

Peace@ptuning.com

I can vouch for the ptuning kit as well as ptuning installation/tuning. Well worth the cost.

After talking with PTuning guys (Patrick and Nick) and Pure Automotive Performance (Brady), I've decided to get my turbo installed Pure Automotive Performance.

It was a tough choice and both companies seem to be super duper at what they do for the FT86 cars, but price difference was significant.

Will post pictures here when the job is done along with that dyno graph!

Brady is a great guy! Had some work done there and he did a flawless job

Too bad you didn't get to see Brady's car with the LS under the hood.....:drool:

So now that I got my turbo installed, now what can i do? Right now, boost is set to 7psi. I am getting a methanol injection system, and increasing the boost to perhaps 10 or 12. I am concerned about oil pressure, oil overheating and the general limitations of the car with 12.5:1 compression. Am i pushing it too much?

kanundrum 08-30-2015 06:19 PM

Im at 400whp with water meth. Thats probably as much as you should push it.

Both shops do quality work, and both shops do quality tuning. @kanundrum car is BEAST, and dozens others are out of PTuning. The same can be said for Pure Automotive.
Really its a toss up.
I tend to go to Pure automotive, it is more local to me.
