HKS Cams?

I ran a search and didn't find anything four pages deep, so I thought I'd ask new: Has anyone installed the HKS cams? If so, what tuning solution was required with them? I have an OFT and I'm interested in installing them, just unsure what else will be required here. For anyone that does have them installed, what kind of power difference are you seeing?

I haven't read of anybody on here having installed them. They are expensive and very mild so I wouldn't expect many people world wide have installed them in their FA20.

Unfortunately, that's what I was expecting to hear... Hmm. Suppose just the cams, as mild as they are, aren't worth a whole lot without the whole stroker kit. Ah well.

add other bolt ons to the car and tune with the OFT before jumping into cams...

nothing at this point is even remotely close to cost efficient/actually developed or available

There have been a couple of threads on here about them. They actually won't work without the stroker kit. Even the small amount of lift they added with the cams causes interference with the stock pistons. The stroker kit pistons have extra reliefs cut in them for more valve clearance.

hks claims with stroker kit and cams, only a 12hp gain at the flywheel. I think this is more targeted towards FI crowd.

@HaDDeS has them.

This.

Adding this to a NA car is a very extravagant way of burning money :)

Ah, I see. So I suppose it's only worth while for a serious turbo or S\C build. Shame, was looking for ways to eek more power out of an N\A build. Thank you though!

They are just regrinds

Seeing how almost every parameter of the fuel's/ignition's/cam's timing/characteristics in this car can be adjusted with these modern tunes (compared to 20, or even just 5-10 years ago), I guess ecutek/oft tunes can't be beat (bang for the buck) and really are the future.
