FT-86 Club Forums

I've been a member here for 1 year :)

I'm not sure exactly when the forum started but I don't think it was much earlier than when I joined.

Looking back, we haven't really learned much since the forum first opened lol. We still figure its the same RWD 2.0L Boxer powered sports car. Its kinda crazy.

what do you guys think / remember from when you joined here?

iirc this site was started on Oct of last year, so Oct '09 is the earliest.

As for the spec and info, you're right. There haven't been much detail on it... BUT we some of our member here have seen the car in person or even touch it. It's kinda upsetting not to get any official info, but o'well I'm already happy w current chassis design. I'm just hoping that wheels gonna be 17" instead of 19" and keep the 4/2 brake for higher model, just like Impreza (2.5i, wrx, gt, STI).

Siriusly.Andrew 11-03-2010 12:30 AM

yeah, I'm slightly jealous of a few of the members who got the opportunity to reach out and touch something so awesome lol.

You'd kind of figure you'd get more info in the year and some the forum has been operating but I guess Toyota is on the hush. Though I will agree, I'm happy with the current chassis design.

19" wheels are a bit to big, I don't like the idea of buying new tires for a 19" rim. 17" is acceptable. Smaller would be just as fine too lol.

So are you back from Japan, or are you just catching up?

No, I'm still in Japan, southern part (Okinawa & Kyushu), so they don't have FT-86c around  I'll be back from Japan mid of this month.

As for any info on this car on car mag here, there isn't much big or new info on FT86. It's same old info and old interview from Mr. Tada.

Siriusly.Andrew 11-03-2010 07:05 PM

so basically going to the source didn't help uncover any of the mystery. Kudos for checking it out for us though!

Hope you're enjoying your trip! Bring me back something nice (Pics will be suffice).

I wanna go there... but see how it goes. I pray that, my cousin will let me borrow his car and let me race in the track or at least visit there when they have some events, before I leave.

In Oita, right? How far from Fukuoka? I'm trying to figure out some trip planning. As far as I have figured out is Suzuka is right by Nagoya, Fuji is not too far (1-2hr drive?) from Nagoya, Tsukuba is close-ish to Tokyo and Autopolis is not too far from my ex's hometown.

When does the Formula Nippon season start?

Yes, Autopolis is in Oita. From Fukuoka to Autopolis is about 2~2 & 1/2 hr long drive. Cuz it's not a direct drive. Gotta go through Chikushino, Miyama, Kikuchi (not sure on Kikuchi) to get to Autopolis (oita).

Formula Nippon been started since April. Last month it came to Autopolis... but sadly, I was in Okinawa when they were having it.
