Nobody knows definitively. I don't think anyone has found it in the software the dealers have (TechStream) so you're probably safe there but that doesn't mean corporate doesn't have something fancier they can do if they're trying to avoid paying for a blown engine under warranty.

Good thread. New to brz/86. Sorry to quote old post, but does this still apply? or have the Subaru/Toyota dealerships started using any newer software that will detect tuning?

To my knowledge there have been zero reports of tunes being detected by dealer techs.

Hey guys,

Can I heat cycle while the car is on stands? I dont want to

reinstall the 2 skid plates, lower car, raise car, remove skid plates

If I can just turn the car on while its lifted, let it warm up, and then cool it down to retorque everything.

For reference, I had UEL Gruppe S for 3 years and put my stock headers back in for smog, and now I'm going to go back on with the UEL gruppe S. Do I even need to worry about heat cycles on a used headers?

It's just best practice to drive about for a week, maybe mix in some spirited driving, then go back and double check.

I did that back when I still had my car and the cnt uel and didn't notice anything out of spec with my torque wrench.

If you have a tuner or datalogging tools look for LTFTs being +/- 10, if they are higher than that you most likely have a leak.
