Hello Guys,
I might be on the market for a 2017 BRZ/86. Sadly they are both only on order and can't test drive one. Lot of review talk about power issue ( not enough ). I currently drive an Clio 3 RS 197HP/1250kg and I am pretty happy with it. adding "easy 30whp" with bolt on and tune, HOW the car feels? 30whp seems a lot for bolt on a n/a car and should make the car more responsive? Not looking to have a 0-60 car, but must be king on the twisty road :) Thanks |

I heard because of emissions regulations there are lot of restrictions. People who did full bolt on tune, still unhappy after? There is no BRZ/86 at dealer, so can't even test drive one. |

Here's the order of my mods and what I felt after install: 1: K&N Drop in filter: Throttle response and top end HP was noticeable. I was surprised! Sounded throaty too! 2: OFH/OFT UEL Stage 2 93 OCT Same opinion as most people. Ride quality greatly improved, especially during idle and low to mid range RPMs. TQ dip was only noticeable when I had a fat body in the passenger seat. I actually thought the car was a bit slower in the top end, but no real significant power gains with my butt dyno. 3: Invidia N1 CatBack: Got loud and drony, but I got used to it. No real power gains. 4: OFT Stage 2 E85: Yup. I got lucky and found a gas station that is right between home and work! Once I let the ECU learn for an hour, I went WOT and felt a SIGNIFICANT increase in both HP and TQ! I am still on my first fill up and I've been bookin' it everywhere I go! No more dropping 2 gears to pass (I spun out, which told me I need stickier tires). I can't wait to fill up again, let the ECU learn...again, and change the oil to an E85 friendlier oil. 5W30ish? Needless to say, I'm going to stick with N/A for now. I'm not too sure how long it's going to take for me wanting to go faster with FI, but I'm very happy! Still looking to maybe go CAI, or just an intake tube. Any suggestions on intakes???? |

Hello new to exhaust mods. I would like to keep my headers stock. Looking to purchase a Perrin 2.5" resonated CBE. My question is will installing a high flow catted front pipe help increase the loudness while preventing rasp. Also will this effect my emissions during inspections or give me any CEL?

Anyone have the torque specs for the O2 sensors??
|
After looking far and wide nobody has posted a definite torque spec for our O2 sensors. So after much looking here is my find. I came to this conclusion by searching o2 sensors for our cars. Then I found NGK's line of oxygen sensors. They listed the o2 sensor as fitting our car and a few other subaru's including a saab LOLOL. but The torque spec for the subaru impreza is 22.1 . So spark plugs are to be torque according to the spark plug itself not car specific is my understanding. So if this plug is an oem replacement then it should be 22.1 on that ej making it 22.1 on our FA..... life is hard
Torque = 22.1 ft-lb. Apply anti-seize SS-30 by JET-LUBE |
DO NOT get the anti-seize on the tip.

As per the first post in this thread, you will get little or no power gaind from a Cat back. Perrin catback 2.5 resonated will sound nice with rest of exhaust stock and wont be too loud. If you swap out the stock front pipe for a metallic high flow cat front pipe, expect a considerable increase in volume and likely some rasp and drone. Its probably not going to be too bad with stock header, you might gain a little power but if you ever change out the header for catless, then that setup with high flow front pipe and perrin cbe will be quite loud and raspy. Putting the stock front pipe in will tame it down a lot with catless header. If you keep stock header you wont throw a CEL. Im not sure how strict smog tests, visual inspections are but you should pass with stock header and hi-flow cat, except California I suppose. |
