Car Finder feature on Remote

I read through the manual the other night and I remember reading something about the remote having a 'car finder' feature. You can tap the 'LOCK' button 3 times and it will sound the horn once (which is loud I might add) and continue to flash the lights so you can find it in a parking lot or whatnot.

I tried it the other day and it didn't seem to work for me. I meant to go back and look at the manual and try again but I forgot before heading into work today. Anyone try it and have luck? I thought it may say something at the bottom like "you may have to get this programmed at your Scion dealer" or similar.

Either way, I like that better than having to try and play 'SONAR' with the car finding it! :D

Works just fine on my BRZ... Use it to scare the kiddie, wife or dog when they're standing near it. :D

So just pressing the LOCK button three times? Hm, how fast between presses? I feel like I'm doing it wrong! :( It's in the FR-S manual so I sure hope it's not a BRZ feature they somehow forgot to remove in the documentation.

Wouldn't that be a kick in the teeth? The battery's disconnected in ours right now, or I'd try it for ya.

This option is set to off at the factory. I had the dealership turn it on for me today.

There were a few other things that could have been changed as well. The DRL's could have been shut off as well as the seat belt chimes.

Do you know the procedure for turning it on? This would be super helpful for me...my parking lot at work is HUGE!

don't all factory alarm system from the past 10 yrs have this feature already?

This isn't the panic feature. Its more subdued than that, apparently.

The dealership hooked their computer to my car. There's a list of customizable features in the back of the owners manual
