FA20 Cam Sprocket Question
 

For anyone who has taken the motor apart.. Quick question...

What is that little bone shaped plate that goes over the spring inside the cam sprocket do? And what does the spring do?

When putting the sprockets back onto the cam in the knock hole and knock pin, how would you keep the plate on the spring without it falling off?
