Custom Sheepskin Seat Inserts

Hi,

I'm thinking about getting some seat covers to protect the seats in my new BRZ. I love the way the seats look with the Alcantara and leather, but I worry that they will get stained or dirty. Has anyone tried the sheepskin insert seat covers?

I like the idea because the leather would still show but the Alcantara would be protected. I called Comfysheep and they assure me they can make them custom to fit my seats.

Do you think the heated seats will still function properly with the sheepskin? And do you think they would fit well?

Here are the ones I'm looking at:

Thanks in advance!

The factory insert is design to give you best grip and comfort. it is like you are putting plastic wrap on the leather seat and steering and that is complete pointless. IMO if you are concerning it get dirty, just take it to professional automobile detailer to clean it. If if it need replacement, i am sure you can get a set of used seat easily.

$99EACH for them sheep skins.
vs 350-500 for full set including rear.
2.5x more expensive for the top model.

Thanks for the replies. :-)

Has anyone had sheepskin on the heated seats or used the insert type covers?

Why? Alcantara is extremely durable. If anything the leather is what needs protecting...

Good to know! I thought it looked more delicate than the leather. Maybe I'll just go with full sheepskins. I love the way they feel but I hate to cover up the cool look of the seats.

Does anyone have recommendations on protectant for the alcantara and leather? Maybe something I can put on to keep it nice and prevent stains.

OP: Likes the way it looks... buys something to cover it up so he can't see it anymore. wat?

Just take care of it and you'll be fine.

SHE just wants to keep her new car nice. It's the nicest car I've ever had and I am obsessing a bit about how to keep it looking new.

I'm the same person who keeps a tablecloth on my beautiful wood dining table. ;)

You are better off enjoying them now and then put covers on when they go bad. Or buy a used set and save them. Or just get those clazzio skins.

Put glass over the dining table.

add seat covers that you have to look at, and also not enjoy your seats, just so the next owner has nice new leather and alcantara?

Its like hmmm, I have a Girlfriend but no way in hell im sleeping with her, have to keep her nice and new.....so the next guy can enjoy it

Get a glass tabletop cover ;-)

I usually don't pay any particular attention besides leather cleaner/conditioner on the leather parts, and a damp cloth/vacuum to the alcantara parts. Never had a problem. Then again, I'm pretty careful not to spill stuff in my car and rarely eat in my car.

the Alcantara provides nice grip and feel to the seats, so I wouldn't cover it up if I were you. Just take care of it and you'll be fine. Interiors are a pain in the arse to keep clean, but easy to keep nice looking since you pretty much control most of what happens inside. Exterior is the opposite, easy to clean, hard to keep nice (rocks, poop, dings, etc.). =/
