DRL has condensation.

Is anyone else having condensation problem with their DRL?

T-Steve 01-21-2015 11:21 PM

Yes, I've got some condensation in the DRLs. I think it happened after a car wash.

It went away after a few days and hasn't returned, even though it has been rainy. This summer I might take them apart and seal them up better.

Yup, just a little... Not enough to cause puddles of any sort but you can see a light layer of condensation inside.

I've mentioned this to the dealer 2 years ago... They don't seem to give a damn about it until it looks like a swimming pool...

Me too. Been replaced under warranty twice, still tons of condensation.

Condensation in front turn signal. Didn't give a f.

That's normal. As far as I know, all of them flicker. It's definitely not a defect as they've unintentionally built it that way with no capacitor...

You can go in and get them warrantied but I can guarantee you that no matter how many new pairs you go through, they will all be the same.

I'm talking about the DRLs inside the BRZ DRL headlight assembly. Your Series.Blue ones to be exact. Is that not what this issue is talking about? Or are BRZ DRLs in general getting condensation?

The "halo" or "boomerangs" in the headlights are parking lights. The DRL are the super bright LED right above the foglights which are what they're talking about.

stand corrected!

I was under the assumption the halo/boomerang also acts as a DRL. Nice to know that part is not condensating

Just an update. I got it replaced today. I hope nothing goes wrong with the new one. I'll double check if I have the same problems as you with the new one.

Thanks for the reply guys.
