I can't be the only person that thinks one word responses are useless when it comes to looking for tuner suggestions... A sentence or two at minimum would be nice. Something like why you went with them or something about their service that stood out to you as being above and beyond?

Are you e tuning for FI or stock car? If FI I would recommend mike at moto east. Hell I would recommend mike for remote stock tuning as well. I'm not convinced of bill.
If your on a budget I would go with Oft. For an additional $200 you can opt for custom tune on top of their canned tune but you won't need it unless u have a cai

I have heard good things about Moto-Mike. He is one of the best at supercharged. Also Mike Botti Phatbotti Tuning is a very good tuner. He has a lot of experience with with the 15 wrx turbo which most will translate to a turbo FRZ/BRZ and he also tunes a lot of FRS/BRZ but is not active on here. Also James Martin is very good. You can find him on the enthusiast face book page very easy. He also will leave your tune open, unlocked which is a plus if you like to do a little adjusting on your own. Those three are very customer service orientated tuners and answer any questions you have. I enjoy being part of the tuning processes and these three will do that. I don't like being in the dark with anything on my car. If you are going to stay NA I would get the OFT. The OFT OTS roms are pretty good and you can tweak them on your own too. Shiv will also etune your OFT for free.

+1 for James Martin from HRITuning - I'm NA and his tunes have made a huge difference for my car and many others!

Correction: custom tunes cost money, whether they're on-site at Vishnu Tuning or remote. But Shiv does periodically release updated off-the-shelf maps for the OFT. And the OTS tunes are VERY good.

OP, sounds like you're set on Ecutek though, which at the moment gives the most flexibility for tuning support at various FA20 tuners around the country. I've heard nothing but good things from James M at HRI tuning, which is pretty incredible considering he's entirely self-taught and starting on this platform. I've also heard a lot of good things about Delicious.

I personally went with Bill from Delicious for my tune. He does support all of his customers very well. Although he gets busy sometimes, he makes sure that your tune runs properly. I've had a but of a problem on my tune during cold starts but he helped me out and gave me a free update. Right now with 93 Stage 2 complete header back and intake, I get about 200 wheel.

I was under the impression that you could send him logs with your OFT and he would etune you for free as long as to bought a OFT? I very well could be wrong. I have never done it.

I'm sorry maybe if the question wasn't so vague I would give a longer response...

I'm on revision 10 with James right now, the dude is a perfectionist. We stopped at 7 for 91 gas in September, and we're re-tuning for flex fuel right now, many months later. And he's not charging me a dime extra. I'm just saying, I haven't heard of any other tuner like that. :bonk:

Nor have I, and it's because Shiv's OTS maps have you covered for pretty much any widely available NA performance mod. And Shiv's 2.0 OTS maps are pretty damn near optimal - impressive considering they're off the shelf and freely available.

Not to knock on Vishnu's e-tuning prowess - Shiv's time is definitely worth the money - but because the OTS maps are so good and cover so many configurations of aftermarket performance mods it's hard to justify the price. E-tuning is $195 for OFT customers and that gets you 8 map revisions. I can't imagine a custom tune would get you $195 worth of horsepower over an OTS map.

It sounds like OFT is quite a deal from my little understanding

Toyota John 01-21-2015 07:56 AM

For the normal performance minded car owner the OFT is a great product.
