Bay Area Pricing Thread
Hello Guys & Gals,
I'm thinking to pick up a new BRZ Limited in the coming months as my daily driver. I've driven the 2015 and loved it. Want to know how much you guys paid and where you got your cars. Can you help a brother out and give me some info: Price: Before tax, before fees, before trade-in. Dealer: Where did you buy it? Car details: BRZ vs. FR-S, Limited, Series.Blue Year: 2013? 2015? Comments: Any comments welcome! Thanks! |
Here's one datapoint that I've gathered through my Auto buying service.
Price: 27,200 + TTL Dealer: Carlsen Subaru through Costco Auto Buying Service Car details: BRZ Limited Year: 2015 Comments: Wanted a series.Blue... they were out of stock as of January 19, 2015. |
Welcome! I was at Capitol Subaru the other day getting my car serviced. I saw that they had a few Brz's ranging from used to premium models to at least one white and blue from the limited series blue options.
Price: 31k out the door Dealer: Santa Cruz Subaru Car details: Brz Limited in WRB Year: 2013 Comments: This was July 2013. The price I paid was during a time where inventory levels were lower and it was a little more difficult to find a Brz in WRB that wasn't already claimed. I believe I paid invoice price plus the guys $250 commission. Prices should be much lower now that the car has been out for a while plus people are ending leases and trading in. Also, January is the lowest month of the year for car sales. You should be able to get an awesome deal if you play your cards right. -Manny |
Price: 27,500
Dealer: Downtown Oakland Subaru Car Details: Subaru Brz Limited WRB Year: 2014 Comment: Bought the car little over a year now and during the time, there was still a decent demand for the car--dealerships all over the bay were charging well over MSRP. I negotiated with the salesman, considering that he was a family friend and got it well below MSRP. Since the car has been out for so long and sadly depreciating in value, you can get it well below the price MSRP--if you're a good at negotiating. I went down to Downtown Subaru of Oakland during the launch event of the new 2015 STi and they were well charging $15k+ over the MSRP of the STi--to somewhere like $53k. Anyways, good luck on your purchase! |
Thanks guys! Hopefully someone with a more recent purchase can chime in.

Aaron Li - Serramonte Subaru ali@serramontesubaru.dealerspace.com Might help to do a truecar.com thing - he's the true car rep there and I remember getting quotes below invoice from him. Zip code 94015 if you want to get truecar.com to pick up Aaron as one of your 'local' dealers Tommy Quach - Capitol Subaru tquach@capitolsubarusj.motosnap.com Internet sales guy at Capitol Subaru, I've also remember getting quotes below invoice from him. |

OP, consider buying from out of state. I bought mine in Colorado back in 2013 and while Bay Area dealers were all gouging and charging 1K+ over MSRP, I bought mine (including shipping) for a little less than MSRP (that was a good deal at that time, now I'm sure you'd pay much less). It would be worth your time I think to at least contact Heuberger, the Colorado dealership and see what kind of pricing they are offering now to compare. Click on the link in my sig to "CO>CA Cartel" to read more info about buying out of state (there are a few more administrative hurdles to deal with). I was so fed up by the way Bay Area dealers were gouging here, if I ever wanted to buy another Subaru (any model) I'd definitely give Colorado a shot at earning my business again. |
PMok, cool... thanks for the info. A bit wary of the paperwork but will go through your link and check it out. Thx all

My bro bought the WRX from Carlsen, after visiting Capitol and Stevens Creek. Not impressed with Capitol at all, those guys didn't even let my bro drive a <$28k car.
Make sure you hit them up with the Costco membership and try to order to save some buck, if you can wait. |
Price: 26,650 (sticker just shy of 30k)
Dealer: Livermore Subaru through Costco Auto Buying Service Car details: BRZ Limited Year: 2015 Comments: First post ever, just joined the BRZ club a couple of weeks ago. After a lot of haggling and sticking to a trade in price I was fixed on they sold me the car for under the costco price  . The only thing I didn't like was that they play the waiting game with you. It took me and my wife waiting 5+ hours there till drive off. The thing I'm happiest about is that I had a moment of buyers regret and they were ready to roll back the vehicle after 100 miles for a WRX at sticker. Luckily after an extended test drive I came to my senses and kept the BRZ. |

If you want I can get you the contact details of the lady that sold me mine - a really nice salesperson, just make sure to use the costco pricing offer. |
That would be great, thanks. I'll PM you.
