No Orlando love?
Not many people from Orlando here it seems.
I have not ordered a car but I really want a BRZ Limited. Been waiting on someone in Florida to have one for purchase with a manual but I know that's going to be awhile. Haven't had a chance to test drive one, even the Toyota dealerships are being a pain in the ass about these. I could have pushed to test drive an automatic but it wasn't worth the effort since I definitely wasn't buying an automatic FR-S. Don't really want to place any order until I've driven one. Anyone have any suggestions? |
Hey man, I'm in Orlando. I'm gonna get an FR-S in the next couple of months. I'm just waiting for the hype to die down a bit. I don't want to settle on the color and transmission and not many of the local dealers have many manuals, mostly automatics.

Central Florida Toyota had an Aquamarine manual last weekend but they were ****ing me around on trying to test drive it so I just left.
|
I drove the hot lava automatic at Scion of Winter Park a few weeks ago... Was fairly underwhelmed by the power, but I'm still holding out for a manual to pop up that I can drive.
If I remember right, the new Toyota dealer by Millenium Mall has a manual FRS in stock. Only reason I haven't called them is because I've already been working with Scion of Winter Park and David Maus and really don't want another dealer blowing up my phone. |
I really just want to test drive to see if it's what I like. I don't even want to push the car, just drive it to make sure it's comfortable before making an order for one.
|
Yea, I saw that one on the website but I'm not interested in Aquamarine. I wan't Asphault or Raven. Courtesy Toyota has a Asphault manual coming in at the end of the month. The sales guy is supposed to give me a call when it comes in. That is unless someone doesn't go in beforehand and put down a $1,000 deposit on the car. lol

Just called ToO. They said whatever manual they had, sold. There is another coming soon, but they are unsure of the color, checking and will call me back.
The sales guy I worked with was supposed to call me as soon as they had a manual one on the lot... Why can't Holler/Classic have a Toyota/Subaru dealership? That is the only autogroup that has treated me well in the past. |
I've had the 6 speed manual. I hate to disappoint many with the wait time but if you are looking into getting the manual tranny then it will be worth the wait. The car is definitely responsive and nice in each gear. I haven't test driven the auto although the paddle shifters do look fun.
Sorry meant to say I'm close to Orlando in Melbourne. |
I really want one but I dont want to put money out until I've driven one.
If anyone knows of a dealer anywhere within a 1-1.5 hours of Orlando with one to test, I'd be down to drive somewhere to test one. Don't get me wrong, I set crazy quick laps autocrossing my lightly modded Mazda3 but I miss rear wheel drive for my daily. My track toy Camaro isn't back together yet so I can't even get my rear drive jollys in it right now hahah. |
ToO has a manual Aphault coming in on June 20th. If it doesn't presale, I will be there to test drive it.
If anyone uses this info to take it out from under me, please promise me one thing; let me take a very very easy test drive? Thanks :) |
I hear you on the putting money down before you drive it. I feel the same way. To be honest, I don't want to put a deposit anyway. I am in no real rush so I don't mind waiting till there are cars available on the lots.
|
I dont mind putting money to reserve one once I know I want it but putting it upfront in hopes that I enjoy it is...

I'll let you know as soon as I either test drive it or find out it's gone. They told me it SHOULD be at MSRP. They admitted people dont seem to be happy with the dealers that have adjustment
