Any standard double DIN adapters that don't look like crap?

I currently have a Ca-Fi Dashlinq4 and I'm thinking about selling it and getting one of the many CarPlay/Android Auto standard double DIN head units that are coming out this year. My problem is that I think the Metra adapters that fill the gaps on the side look like crap, and that was a legitimate selling point in me getting the Dashlinq, because it's the right width for the space. Has anyone found a better option for filling the gaps that doesn't involve bondo or an expensive custom solution? I can't believe no one makes a center bezel piece for our car that has the standard double DIN opening for the head unit. :(

One of the first mods i did on my BRZ was to install a new head unit.
I had JPM coachworks make me a one piece dash panel for a double DIN head unit.
A bit expensive, but looks so much nicer.

I agree, I hate those side gaps, looks so half-assed. I have a similar unit as you (Toyota universal Android) and would also like to upgrade when the time comes. I will probably use the Metra kit, get some type of filler material and over-fill the gaps then sand it down until smooth. I have my dash piece wrapped in CF vinyl so it doesn't matter what it looks like underneath. I'll likely order a new dash piece for this so I don't ruin the one that came with my car.

I wonder what the Metra kit would look like wrapped in vinyl with no bondo... Hmm....
