Can't find non-TRD louver thread
I've searched high and low using every method of searching I could. There used to be a thread, most likely was in cosmetic modification, about a non-TRD brand louver that was recently produced. They were making half and full louvers. The halves were only like 3 blades, but I was interested in the full set.
Did the thread get taken down or is it just in hiding? I can't remember the company or any other info except that they seemed pretty decent and weren't at the ridiculous $1000 TRD price tag. |
They no pay vendor fee - they nolonger get thread.

I was looking for it yesterday and I'm guessing that is what happened, although the thread itself was not a vendor thread. It was started by forum members with some good information and people looking for the vendor, then the vendor chimed in. Several of us suggested they talk to the moderators about a vendor sponsorship but I'm guessing it didn't work out. Not sure that justified deleting a user thread. A lot of our threads have vendor specific info on them shared by forum members. Probably crossed the line when the vendor started trying to get some source funding out of it. |
I remember when I last looked at it, they were selling people the half-louver which may have caused an issue. I just wish I could remember who it was the was selling them.

Finally found it.
https://www.facebook.com/events/622174637894634/ Still looks pretty dang sketch since they haven't shown their own product and are having a group buy... Only other louvers being posted on their site. Ugh. |

Yeah... had lil issue & member thought it was okay not to sell their product without paying vendor fee (not gonna go detail).
Trust me, TRD louver is awesome! Two of my friends has em & they love every angle. They made it to perfection & those double sided tape are almos impossible to take it off instead of cheap kind. Pay the price, you won't regret it. |

I'd have to say bite the bullet and spend the bucks for the TRD unit if you really want it. I looked at this one and it just fits really nicely. Not so sure an aftermarket one will be as nice, if, anyone ever makes one.

I drive a 25K car because I don't want to spend 50K on a better car, even though I could. The TRD tax is just to freaking high on their parts, regardless of the quality. 1/25th the price of the car for one cosmetic piece is well past my pain threshold regardless how much I lust for them. Hey, but if you want 'em go for it! I'll admire and covet them on your car. |

Too bad the official TRD louvres are missing the row at the bottom. (yes I know why but it still looks like shit)

I have custom CF mount 3rd brake light hand made by @wheelhaus . This is a very high quality modification. In the case of the Neue Engineering louver, what I need is custom fit. The TRD louver has the third brake light molded in/cut out from the bottom slat. This won't work with the above brake light. The Neue louver could probably be made to show the light from underneath while looking even more custom. Additionally I can get it in CF and not the cheaper ABS that the TRD louver is constructed from. As ichitaka05 mentioned above, more and more people are getting the TRD louver. As a mass produced part, it's losing its' uniqueness. This is also a factor in not having a cookie cutter car. Just because something doesn't fit whatever arbitrary standard you've set for worthiness, doesn't mean that it is/isn't. It's simply your opinion, nobody has to "suck it up". |
