Oil changes and warranty
This is my first time owning a car with a warranty, so I don't really know how this stuff works.
I've done my first two changes with Subaru oil and filter. There's no Dealership near me so it's a bit of a hassle. As long as im using 0w20 and appropriate filters, and keep my receipts, will I be ok? |

Not sure about Canada, but in the US, yes you would be. They still might hassle you a bit, but only of the failure could be proven to be directly related to oil changes. As an example, I just had the fuel pump TSB done on my car. The dealer did the first oil changes under the Scion free maintenance but there were two other oil changes due after that. I had them done elsewhere, but no proof was asked for them before the TSB was done. |
Call your dealership up and ask. I know that for many in the states proof of oil change when done by themselves is as simple as having a receipt of the needed goods.

But thanks. I assume my receipts are good enough |
