Ode to FA20

I was just going through all the old "developing a turbo charged ft86", "more powerful fa20!", "STi edition BRZ"..... threads.

There are literally years and years of misleading information and puffery. Yes, TRD was developing a supercharger for the FT86 platform. It was not for a production car ....

Yes, there was an STi concept for the BRZ, but that was just a "what if we did"

So going through all these old articles and threads, I don't know if I find myself disappointed with Toyota/Subaru, Journalists, or the community.

We all were hopeful for this platform, but you know what? This platform delivered. I enjoy my BRZ on a daily basis.

I do however wish either A: Toyota would just flat out say: No. and Not honey **** us. B: Journalists would just stop throwing around misleading articles and print a concrete piece of work that conveys toyota saying: No.
or C: Myself and the Community quit being so gullable :P.

Just a random rant that I wanted to put on the interwebs.

:flameon:

I, for one, totally avoid Torquenews.com. Most of the bullshit rumors I've seen start there.

Yup. They are probably the worst.

The twins have nice aftermarket support. So if STI/TRD is lauched people will complain (worhtless turbo, blowoff valve doesnt sound cool you name it)
and they will go aftermarket anyways, why bother?

I used to wonder the same thing, but it is because of a warranty turbo and set up. I'm assuming if someone were to upgrade the factory turbo it makes it a lot easier using factory set up.

A factory turbo means a lot for people in the golden state.

For people who don't mod, factory warranty is very nice.

For people who do mod, it makes it much easier to mod for high numbers.

Warranty is bullcrap, dealer will complain about "how you abuse the car, and doesnt cover up".

that too
