SWARB- I'll ask the dyno shop but I'm not sure if they can. bu hao yi si

Get over it. Everyone else in the world has deal with reading U.S. charts in lb-ft.

I'll still ask the question about ft/lbs. Not a bad thing to have for reference anyway

Sure thing.

Top curve= 4-into-1 with ACE muffler (not for sale yet)
Mid curve= 4-into-1 with muffler delete
Low curve= 4-into-1 with stock muffler
All pulls with Stock ECU and K&N air filter

The parts, photos and pricing will be listed on the website this week. We just started production today and will post photos of jigs and progress throughout.

Edit- November 2015

Here is an updated view of all the dyno and posts regarding the Ace Header Type A or Type B 150 250 or 350. Some are for superchargers but no Turbo information yet.

Best header reviews for BRZ / FT-86 are still found by searching FT86club.com or google.

What was the exhaust setup on the 4-2-1 header dyno posted in the first post if this thread?

Why is the overpipe required?

Can you post a pic of the primary merges?

I'm assuming these are stainless steel, what grade of steel are they?

My guess is they designed their header/overpipe with max primary length, so their combo will meet up with the stock frontpipe, but not the standard overpipe.

Mine as well. Still, I'd like to know for sure.

I think the car was strapped too tightly based on the wavy torque curve :burnrubber:

Love these headers, wish they were out (or I knew about them) before I got my first production run nameless header......

TylerLieberman 01-13-2015 10:58 PM

Lol we really are overly fucking difficult here in the states. All of our systems suck.

THIS IS WHY THE OTHER COUNTRIES ARE WINNING

twag4 01-13-2015 11:22 PM

Their overripe is two into one. Look at the picture. The header goes 4 into 2. Then the overpipe goes 2 into 1.

I didn't realize it went that far back, thanks.

Calum- More pics coming soon, we've busy making the welding jigs and getting production up and running.

Material is #304 brushed alloy. Info on website. We can also polish but found that the polished doesn't deal as well with heat at the brushed

Correct, we should really call it the 4-into-2-into-1. OP is the wrong term

Not worried. Visually a regular BMW and Alpina look similar. Consider these headers blue-printed.

Some photos of the production jigs getting ready. Some welds will be done with the robot, but over 70% is still hand welded. Last photo is some test samples for the 4-1 header we were playing with.

4-2-1
Header- http://aceheader.com/index.php/gt86-...-header-detail
Front Pipe- http://aceheader.com/index.php/gt86-...nt-pipe-detail
Mid Pipe- OEM
Muffler- ACE 160mmOD twin tip muffler (not released yet)

4-1
Header- http://aceheader.com/index.php/gt86-...-header-detail
OP- http://aceheader.com/index.php/gt86-...er-pipe-detail
Front Pipe- http://aceheader.com/index.php/gt86-...nt-pipe-detail
Mid Pipe- OEM
Muffler:
Top curve= ACE 160mmOD twin tip muffler (not released yet)
Mid curve= muffler delete
Low curve= OEM muffler

Again, all pulls with Stock ECU and K&N air filter. We will dyno again with Delicious Stage 2 and post results when we get a chance. Probably won't be for a while as the we're in winter re-build stage and the car is in pieces.

rlpaul 01-15-2015 10:27 AM

Interesting design. So this should increase the header pipe length, which should produce a flatter torque curve vs the shorter headers most of the aftermarket employs? The dyno looks a bit funky, but that's what it appears to be doing if I'm reading it right.

Will be interesting to see what kind of results occur with a tune. Peak HP/TQ is nice and all, but I'd rather have a flatter, more predictable torque curve personally, and this looks promising in that regard.

cameronjones239 01-15-2015 11:04 AM

I really like this.. Something to keep in mind as I'm doing headers sometime in the summer.

Calum 01-15-2015 08:59 PM

Sweat Jesus that setup is quite.

V3rtigo 01-16-2015 05:02 PM

Does the header(421) come wrapped as it is in the photos?

tahdizzle 01-16-2015 05:23 PM

So that dyno is the 4-2-1 header with a tune. That torque "rollercoaster"? is quite horrendous IMO.

The design is impressive; however, the numbers are not. Once again, my opinion.

mav1178 01-16-2015 05:45 PM

@AceHeader-MT: any way to do... local pickup?

I am going back to Taiwan in August and may be interested in picking it up. Can probably ship for others worldwide if paid in advance.

Thanks.

Dimman 01-16-2015 08:10 PM

To all you metric lovers, how many kW is this?

Serious note:

Curious why no photos of the primary merges.

Also dyno graphs that don't start the power and torque at zero are EXTREMELY deceptive in comparisons.

Just saying...

The dyno is without a tune.

Part of the reason is the graphs don't start at zero. We are basically zoomed in, which magnifies the changes. Useful technique for visually looking much better than a competitor if your advantage is small. But the side effect is amplifying the ups and downs.

A graph starting from zero would show that the roller coaster isn't that crazy. But also that there's a negligible difference with 'Brand X'.

In short, meh.

Yes, the header comes wrapped. But only if requested:)

That particular header came off the car after the Tsukuba and Suzuka runs.

It's the latest revision of our design so the other un-wrapped versions are slightly different. We didn't want to post photos of inferior parts

Production set-up should be finished in a few weeks. After that we'll post better photos of the header, runners and collector
