Really?! I thought it just did a full sweep to red line every time?

its his username, he says it right after you see it when he intros himself, lol

you can customize the "welcome" message that displays on the radio when you start the car, scion has put this feature in their radios almost since the beginning. the radio manual should tell you how to change it

My nick :) Esoteric Bastard Operator From Hell... BOFH was a comedy series about an IT guy written by Simon Travaglia in the 90s.

Perhaps i'll make another video showing how to do this :)

Awesome little feature. Useful for me at the dealership the other day. I asked them why there was 20 miles on one of the cars on the lot since I was told that it wasn't test driven.

The face of the guy was priceless, as I looked like some sort of wizard.

What is the top button of the 3 on the left of the cluster? A bit out of focus but looks like it says KM/H / MPH ?

Our Middle Eastern spec Toyota 86's have a blank on that switch. What does it do - just change the digital speed read out? Anything else?

It's a MPH/KPH switch. It changes the units in the digital speedometer. Nothing else as far as I can tell.

Speed ON, Gravity OFF. You know... preparation for warp speed!

Exactly, yep.. the button just switches between metric and imperial units.

It's quite handy, because I live about 20 minutes from the US border in Canada, so I visit the states frequently to buy gas, milk, cheese, etc (which is dirt cheap there!), I just push the button and I can monitor my speed in Miles.. I assume the US versions are the same.

Thanks for this tip, and the gear selection is very cool for a manual car! Love that!
