So it was the first snow of the year and I was driving home from working shift. I was driving on a 4 lane road that widens into 6 lanes. I was drivig south bound with not a single cars other than myself in the lane and I switched lanes to do a uturn so I could enter my apt complex and as I merge over I see a for expedition coming over the median right at me! I have enough time to say wtf lol. So do you think it's totaled? Attachment 100002

Generally my response to that question is it is hard too tell.
Not this time though! From all the other posts with that sort of damage it is almost guaranteed to be a write off.
Once again I am very impressed with the fact that the driver walked away with no or minor injuries (I am presuming since you did not mention any) which is a huge testament to the crash safety of these cars!

Yea I took a pretty good air bag blow to the face and my neck was a little sore but the other driver and I got out and talked right after. I'm glad we were both ok. He came flying over that median though lol

did he lose grip? or just paying more attention to his phone rather the road?

Parikh1234 01-09-2015 10:36 AM

even if it wasnt, you dont want to fix that car up. Dont accept anything less than totaled from the insruance company.

Nickd123 01-09-2015 10:40 AM

Yea he lost grip. There was no way I couldve came out of it without some kind of damage if I would've tried to swerve I would've lost it and ended up in a guard rail or hitting the side of him with the side of my car. The lady on the phone said we will contact you with a repair estimate and I was like ummmmm I'm no expert but I think this thing is finished lol

They still have to get a repair estimate to determine if totaled or worth repairing. If they totaled every single car that ever had a claim our insurance would be $5000 a month.

Ahhh ok I've never been in an accident prior to this one so I have no idea what happens during the process.
