Fun roads in Temecula

I spend a decent amount of time in Temecula because of my girlfriend (I'm from Lakewood) and I was wondering if anyone knew of any fun roads in the area. I know Temecula has a lot of backroads and country roads, so I figure there are bound to be a handful of good ones.

I actually just found a nice little loop in the West Temecula/North Fallbrook area off of Rancho California Road. You just take Rancho, past Ynez, and follow it until you hit Avenida Del Oro. Then you make a quick left onto Sandia Creek Drive and then eventually onto De Luz. De Luz was probably the best portion of the drive with lots of curves, climbs, and drops.

That's the route in question. Not particularly technical, but still a fun drive. Lots of nice looking homes and scenic views!

The drive up to Palomar Observatory. I took Palomar Mountain Road S6 up and down. I want to try Nate Harrison Rd & HWY S7 next time.

Yeah, I heard of that drive. Considering doing it next time I'm out there. Thanks for the tip!

Dude, get on the Ortega Highway, HW 74. It's slow and shitty with traffic, but if you come over the hill late at night it's totally open and amazing.

Warning: There's 2 really dangerous areas in the middle though; one has a slight road bump in a hard corner, easy to imagine losing control there when you tires lift off the ground, and then shortly after there's a turn that becomes more acute in the middle of the turn, easy to over correct there and spin out.

Hmm, I've heard a lot of people recommend that road as well as a lot of people telling me how dangerous it is.

I might go for a run when I can be sure the roads will be relatively clear.

Any other route suggestions? I've heard of a couple backroads to take in the Temecula wine country, just don't know the specifics.

Hwy 74, or bust. There aren't really any other good roads out there. It's pretty though...

I run through Palomar once awhile, I'm actually going later tonight :D

Ortega Hwy is pretty windy fun road. There can be a lot of cars though.
