Did you buy used? What did you pay?
Just curious what your actual costs were. Year, mileage, price? I remember looking last year and seeing sellers try to get 90% of MSRP after a year and 15k miles, but the prices are really starting to drop to a normal level.
Thanks! |
Need to ask that question in the South West sub forum.
The answers you get here are almost meaningless as the cars have radically different values across the country. Mind you, you will get loads of answers but take them with a grain of salt unless they are from your region. |
I'm in Houston. I paid 22k for my brz limited with 11k miles out the door with papers.
And they provided me with free 100k/10years power train warranty. |
Metro Detroit. $22k plus tax and registration for a used 2013 BRZ with 2,000 miles. Car was purchased by PO in November 2013, I got it in April 2014.

Paid $18,900 for a 2013 FR-S with 8400 miles in Central Iowa. Total was around $22k after carrying over a little negative equity and tax, title, licensing, etc.
|

I don't live here just work here two or three days a week. I am in Detroit probably once a month at least. My wife thinks going to Greektown is a "vacation" and I like the hobby shops in Sterling Heights. |
$20k out the door for a 2013 FR-S 10 series with 20k miles
|
$18.9k for 2013 Raven FR-S with 37k miles. I love the car. I bought it because it was the color I wanted (Raven) AND an automatic. I knew it would have probably been months for me to find that specific combo again for under $20k.
I know, most people on this site like to hate on the AT but I love the s--t out of the it, especially with the Berk Muffler delete installed. |
Man, great concise responses, I'm loving it. I don't care much about region since I could see myself flying somewhere for pickup and driving back, so I'm just wondering what prices are like in general.
Anyone else reading this please share, it's really helping me out. Some great looking deals. |
$21k otd. With 3200 miles. I work at a dealership so I had my manager find me one. Guy had it repo'd and it was basically brand new when I got it.
|
$18K for a m/t Raven FRS. 13K clicks. 6 Year Warranty.
I was actually second in line after someone offered to trade in their car for it. Waited a day and got approved over the other dude. Couldn't be happier. |
Worth noting private party vs. dealership, these days private party are almost all under $20k (stock) while most dealerships are holding out for >$20k although they are likely on the hook for some warranty work so depends on your planned usage...
I'd start here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=69 |
There's a 13 asphalt certified up here near reading, pa for$ 17.8k with only 18k miles, best I've seen price for a certified no accidents.
I used cargurus.com when I was lookin for mine Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
22k for frs with 6k
|
19k out the door, including all fees
2013 firestorm FRS with base radio, cloth, no upgrades except spoiler (stock). bought with 15500 miles on her. love it! (also used cargurus, and dont be afraid to ask for a price match!) I found the cheapest FRS within 500 miles of me, and called around until a dealer near me will match the price. |
CarGurus seems like a pretty cool site. I've bought my last 3 cars and 6 motorcycles (over the last 10 years) private party, really shows how the used market is rising in costs compared to new/certified pre-owned.

I am trying to sell my ultramarine 2013. Asking 18,500 and no serious inquiries. In Erlanger KY. The Dealerships are only offering 16k, which is an ungodly 10k drop in 2 years. These cars do not hold value at all. I think after people realized it is not quick, the hype was over.
My AT FRS has perrin oil cooler, upgraded tires in great condition, hood struts and weathertech mats with 15k. Still has the same 100k tranny warranty, was fitted with new tailights for condensation issue recall of sort. I guess I will post it for sale on this site. |

For example, I recently sold an ultramarine 2013 FR-S with 3,300 miles on it. We had it priced for 22k. It sold for 19.5k. |
Also I want to say the industry average for depreciation is 15-20% for new cars driven off the lot, and then 15% each year thereafter. So a two year old car dropping 35% (that'd be a 25k car new selling for ~16.5k) is about average.

22k in 2013 for my 2013 frs with 3400 miles.
|
2013 FRS 16.5k out the door w/ 11k miles from a dealer in Montana. I used frequent flier miles to go pick it up...
Score?! |
2013 FRS Release 10 with 10K miles (16k kms) for $19.5 ($23.5K CAD) out the door.

I got my '13 FR-S this past June w/ 4,100mi for $23.5k OTD in the northern suburb of Chicago. The car was $21.5k, so $2k for TTL.
|
In May last year I picked up my 2013 6MT Whiteout with 16K miles in washington for $22,650 OTD. I still think it should have been less since it had aftermarket wheels which usually lowers the price on a fairly new car. Also add on $750 for 5 year up to 90K full warranty I added on :D
|
$22,500 in August 2014 at Toyota/Scion dealership for a 2013 FR-S with 197 miles on the odometer. How'd i do?

My car is a 2014 Subaru BRZ Limited. I don’t remember the actual mileage but I bought it brand new in July. I decided on the ’14 model because thought it was going to be cheaper. I did my research and looked at several different dealerships in Indiana. The ’15 and ’14 at that time was almost the same price. I didn’t want to wait for the 2015 so I went with the ’14 model. The invoice price that was around 27,700 when I spoke to one of the dealership. I looked at other dealerships at other states and found a BRZ that was lower than the invoice. I don’t know why it was so low but I think it was advertised incorrectly. The local dealership could not honor the same price so I went out of state to purchase my car. Worked out well since I bought it 2k under invoice.

Toyota certified, 2013 with 13k miles for $18.5k,
|
2014 Monogram just under 10k miles on it $23.5k out the door. Could of probably done a little better, but I really liked the Monogram features and those were a bit hard to find locally.
|
For those that got the FRS: Does the pure pricing still come into play or is it negotiable once it's used?
|
No pure pricing on used.
