Ottawa FT86 event at TopKarting - Jan 24th

We are booking a gokarting evening at TopKarting in the Ottawa area for the evening of January 24th.

So far we have 20 participants but need 24 for the 2 groups we plan to run.
We would like to get more FT86 folks out with us or at least people known to the members (relatives or friends). I'm sure we can come up with 4 more.
We can also go up to 28 people (2 groups of 14) if there is more interest.

Please post up the names is anyone else is attending and I will update the list.


Schedule

Everyone should arrive for 6:30pm. This gives time to get organized prior to the first race around 7pm.

We will divide the participants into 2 run groups. It will be mixed so that novices and experienced karters will be in each group.

• Group 1 qualy 10 laps
• Group 1 Race 70 laps

• Group 2 qualy 10 laps
• Group 2 Race 70 laps

The top 3 drivers from each group will be invited to the final race to determine the final event winner and podium.

Final Race - 25 laps for top 6 drivers

We should wrap up around 9pm or so, after the final shootout race.


Cost?
It is usually $60 each for a qualy + 70-lap race, but we can get a small discount from that at $55 each. This also includes a drink (non-alch) and covers the final shootout race so no one has to pay extra for that.

I'll update this first post with the attendee list as we firm things up.

Since we need to book the venue firm, I will prepay for the first 24 participants and everyone can pay me back, hopefully in advance of the event. I will mark the attendee list for those who have paid as we go.

• Interac email transfer to slick66@rogers.com

Slick Automotive Solutions will supply trophies to the winner of the final shoot-out race and also a fastest lap of the night award (in any heat). These trophies will be limited to FT86club members only.

I have a friend in MTL who is actually in a karting league. I could always ask him if we need another person or two.

Hi George,
I have committed at 24 but we can go up to 28, maybe 30. TopKarting may add a driver or two to our run groups, so the more we have means less outsiders. (Depending on the day, they run max # of karts at 14 or 15).

So far, we're still at 20, and with your +2 will put us at 22.
