Well, this arrived today... this whole thing was 23lbs? Yup! :happyanim:

Dragged the box to the garage for unpacking. Appointment at P Tuning tomorrow to install, along w/ oil change and tranny/diff flush (weather dependent). Packaging is done rather well. Nothing moves inside the box, although not much is needed to keep <20lbs in place.

Let's see what this lil' bugger is...

60mm Overpipe! Sorta wish I got the 70mm since it looks nicer, but performance wise, probably nut much difference since I'm running a Tomei 60mm front pipe and header exit is 2.5" (63mm).

Inside shot! The welds look amazing!

Included hardware appears to be Ti as well. The bolts look like they're milled and are very lightweight. Definitely not steel. Comes with copper? lube too (gasket grease or anti-seize? probably gasket lube).

Here's the axel-back portion. Very nicely wrapped and protected.

Tips even have tape on them under the padding. The tape bent in one corner for easy removal, how considerate.

Just the tip! It's huge! (that's what she said).

Here's the mid-pipe.

Flanges are nicely protected, and resonator is wrapped nicely too.

Inside shot of the mid-pipe. Nice welds, and you can see the resonator perforations.

Looks like no need for the weird spring-nuts that came on the stock system? Perhaps. Forgot to inspect the other flange to see if there's an indent for that weird exhaust doughnut thing. I'll look at the instructions later (in the car already).

Fits nicely in the car with seats folded down, with the exception of the midpipe, which sticks through the privacy cover. Not too bad though.

More pics to come once installed... :burnrubber:

Installed catback!

Badge on axelback and midpipe resonator, facing front of car. Apparently #49 (ヨクできた!):

Hard to tell, but there's a good amount of subframe clearance for the overpipe:

Tips look great!

Amazing pics, thanks for taking so much time to get pictures of all the small details. It's the small details that make it what it is.

I DEFINITELY want to hear a sound clip, I'm sure everyone does. Make sure to get a sound clip right behind it so we can hear it in all it's glory :)

Video?!

aznatama 01-08-2015 07:27 PM

I'll try to get some videos this weekend, no time tomorrow, and it's too cold to do it tonight. Shooting the video in my parking garage is probably not a good idea either. =P

Sounds amazing, thanks for doing such a thorough review!! The in-cabin sounds so aggressive, love it. Must be fun to sit behind the wheel and listen :)

Definitely! The best part is that when I'm cruising on the highway, it's nice and quiet at low load. I'm pretty surprised since I have a catless front pipe, almost afraid it would be too loud and that I would have to run either a resonated fp or HF catted fp. No need now!

Also, the Tomei FP holds up well to the rainy weather and road salts thus far... I'll see how everythingholds up through this winter. Ti does not react to anything thrown on the streets, so it should be fine.

The Tomei FP did exhibit slight signs of exhaust leakage at the joint, but we tightened the clamp on it, so hop it solves the problem.
