remove 'no seatbelt' alarm?

Anyone know how to stop the seatbelt chime ? My dog rides with me a lot and it will go off when he sits in the car (he's 90+ pounds)

so annoying.

Carista (mobile app) can.
edit: I mention it can, but it costs some amount of money for the app and hardware to do so

Just buckle up the seat belt.

real easy to do using the toyota techstream software on WinXP and an obd2-to-usb cable. (more info here)

i did it after installing aftermarket heated seats since it would always trigger the alarm to go off.

go to junk yard, cut out set belt, insert into seat?

If you don't want to go the tech route, you can buy a metal male-end seatbelt buckle and just click that in while your dog is in the car. You can find them at junk yards. I'm not sure if you can order that part specifically from a dealership.

"click it or ticket -- and receive an annoying beeping noise".

+1 to Toyobaru for attempting to keep us all safe.

Federal/State/Provincial law in most places not the manufacturers idea.

One of my friends has a tc and his seatbelt alarm is equally as annoying as mine. It is certainly not as bad in many other cars (take a 2014 cruze, for example, another friend's car). There is definitely something to be said for the length to which our seatbelt alarms are drawn out...

[ame]http://youtu.be/_D6YUkAdrNs[/ame] ok i think i found a hidden gem on the tube!! Someone try to see if this works while I sleep!!!

My dog rides with me a lot too. I either just put the seat belt in the back and click it in or I sometimes have a harness on him with a short leash that has the male bucket in the end.

If you unplug the wires that go to the seat belt buckle, the car will think you're buckled up all the time. Open circuit equals buckled.

I did this on the drivers seat so that I can move the car up and down my own driveway without being beeped at and annoyed.

Take it to your dealer. They will disable the alarm for free via techstream.

Chimera 01-07-2015 12:31 PM

they can
