Lowering Springs
 

I have found a lot of lowering springs but just want a little guidance on brand. All I am looking for is a moderate drop. I do not want to sacrifice driveability nor do I want to have any pre-mature tire ware. I have seen lowering springs and they all say they drop the car from like 1" to 2" on average. How can you adjust drop rates of springs? Doesn't make sense to me. Anyways, I just want to close the wheel gap up a bit so am looking for like a 2" drop. Any suggestions on brand or have a link? Thank you.

To avoid premature tire wear, get the car aligned.

You can't adjust how much a spring will drop your car.

Coilovers have adjustable ride height. Springs do not. There also is not a spring that will drop the car 2 inches. Drop the car 1" on Swifts or RCE and call it a day. The gap will be gone, you will still have good strut travel, and suspension geometry won't be screwy.

If you really want more drop I think the Eibach pro-kit is just over an inch drop. to avoid tire wear you should get camber bolts for the front and possibly rear LCAs. Some have OK camber while others like me were way off side to side and one side was over -2.

Thanks guys. Yeah I run KSport Kontrol Pro coil overs on my drag Integra. I was just a little confused why the site was saying you could adjust spring drop. Not sure about that. Anyways I know to get the car aligned after I install the springs just wondering if they can align the car back to factory spec with about a 1.5" drop without the aid of a camber kit.

Eibach pro kit is 1" (more like 7/8") . Eibach sport line is 1 1/2"+ drop

I had H&R blue super sport springs, and Nitto NT01 tires on 17 by 9 wheels. Just loved this combination. But for track use you need additional camber adjustment.

Pretty sure if you go that low, you will need to deal with excessive negative camber in the rear. Using the pro kit in the front still has very near zero camber, but the rear is at -2 degrees. More than that is a recipe for tire wear. Even at 2 degrees you will notice the inside of the tires wearing more quickly. I think at 1.5+ inches lowered, you will exceed any chance of normal tire wear without camber correction in the rear. The SPC rear control arms look to be a reasonably priced option for this.

Mine is dropped 1" on Hotchkis springs, and I have -2° camber in the rear. Up front with OEM camber bolts, I have them maxed out at -1°. The toe up front was the real tire killer from the drop.

*edit*: by "maxed out" in the front, I mean the most negative camber I could get is -1°.

If you aren't planning on tracking your car, I'd make a hard case for the TRD lowering springs. I put a set on my FR-S for the same reasons you stated and absolutely love the way they look and even more so, the way the car rides now. Its much better than the original springs, imo. Best of all, you don't have to mess with the camber.

RCE makes good lowering springs. My old subie had a set of eibachs, I think swift has a set as well. people who want a drop in aesthetics without sacrificing much drive-ability go for RSR downs or RSR superdowns.

be warned, the lower you go without coilovers, i.e. on just springs the worse the ride will be
