what is this black strip stuck to my top windshield?
there's a black strip stuck on my top left windshield on inside.
I am getting tint tomorrow and guessing the sun strip is going to interfere with it? http://s11.postimg.org/xyedc7far/IMG_1244.jpg |
Probably part of the shipping stickers or an inventory sticker. I don't have one there (just checked).

It's a chick thing.

That's an RFID sticker used for inventory tracking at some dealers. It's supposed to be removed before they deliver it to you. Pull it off. Or point it out to the tint guy and let him pull it off and clean the residue, since he should know how to make sure the glass is clean so that the tint will adhere properly.
On a different note, you're getting that ugly sun strip? They wanted to put that strip on mine, but to me that sharp line across the windshield looks cheap, so I told them not to. I also didn't want the inevitable bubbles in the dot matrix area around the mirror. They did it anyway, and I made them take it off. Just because it's part of the tint package doesn't mean you have to have it. |
It seems to happen often that SOME little piece of plastic will be left on by accident on a new car. I had some protective plastic behind the seatbelt after I got mine.

is that where dealers put mileage and maintenance date on it?:iono:

Hey Hot, just keep it and if the dealer ever pisses you off swap it for one in in another one of their cars. Next time they scan they will suddenly show a Lava in stock! |

Correct, I had it on mine when delivered as well. It's an RFID sticker that is used for tracking the cars on and off the transport ship and perhaps in transit to the dealer. As @extrashaky pointed out, you can remove it. I still have mine. Stuck it over the "Racetrac" label on my refillable 54oz cup from that gas station chain. |
