Changed my mind and am buying Matt Andrew's 17x9 Awesome's (the candy blue on white FRS ones). Will post pics when mounted this weekend.

A 17x8 would be nice. Would cater to both lowered and non lowered bit better for sure. :)

So hell ya 17x8 (35) offset would be sweet!

shaunsweeney 12-31-2013 03:15 AM

Please do the 17x8! Please do them in bronze.

Mach V Dan 01-08-2014 11:56 AM

17x8 is on hold for now, but 17x9" and 18x9.5" are in stock in all colors.

Do want!

Nerfbacon 04-07-2014 12:41 PM

Any chance you have a picture of a firestorm with the silver wheels? Torn between silver and gunmetal atm.

rekd0514 04-14-2014 07:47 PM

Still want the 17x8 +35 version! Even a 17x9 +35 would suffice.

It's been my experience that 17x9+42 works for most tires up to 255 with no rubbing. If rubbing, a 3-5mm spacer with Awesome's fits on stock lugs. Also, this nets 17x9 +39 to +37 which is actually better on the outer fender than 17x9 +35 with a 245-255. There are plenty of RPF1 owners that get outside rubbing and need to fender roll or end up running narrower tires to make their 17x9 +35 work. :)

@Mach V Dan

What can you do for me? Looking for 4x 17x9 Mach V's in black. One of the few light, 9" rims avalible.

17's are currently in stock in silver only, although more black ones are on the way. Find them HERE.

These wheels are, indeed, awesome! Very clean, light weight 5 spoke... I just don't want 9in wide wheels!

17x7.5 or 17x8 and I'm in.

We're working on this. One decision point is whether or not they are going to clear STi Brembos (or other large brakes). If they do, that makes the design work more difficult, and possibly increases the weight a little. Not having to worry about Brembos makes the design easier to implement, and may save a few ounces.

Thoughts?

I really like these wheels, but I'm also in the 17x8 +35 (5x100 only) camp. My car is a daily driver, so BBKs are not in my future.

Are the pics in the op on stock suspension?

I'm not in the bidness of making wheels so I couldn't come close to giving you good advice here. My best guess would be to make them as cheap/strong/light as possible. People with enough money to buy BBKs may go with your bigger size wheels anyway.

Happy to hear that you're still working on this. Solidifies my decision to just put new tires on my OEM wheels and wait til next year for new wheels. Please keep us updated :)

Also interested in a set around this size.

I have the Wilwood BBK that fits under the stock rim, and I am in love with it. I'm planning on grabbing a set of the 17x9 Awesomes to complement them.

from the Mach V website - 56.1mm hub bore means it's hubcentric for any Subaru, no hub rings required.

and they are awesome...so awesome that your friend with a WRX may borrow them while you are under your car playing with things. They did recommend the McGard lug nuts to me when I asked and the dark lugs match the gunmetal wheels, I am pleased they called me and that I had them added to my order.

Am interested if there is 17x8 without ruining the look, like SSR did with their GTV01 (their 18 inch looks betters)

Sorry, but for now we're just sticking with the 17x9. They are in stock in all colors.

For what it's worth, silver 17's are out of stock for the immediate future. Sorry. The other colors are in stock.
