Recommended Bright 6000K HIDs?

I hear a lot of conflicting recommendations from different threads and websites, so I wanted to get a batch of everyone's opinion if possible.
I'm looking for 6000K HIDs that are as bright as I can get them for the price.

Also, any HID places in SoCal people could recommend? Would do it myself, but don't really have a garage or time.

theretrofitsource retro-quik projector retrofit kit could be nice to other drivers... And get normal 35w HID's, not "AS BRIGHT AS POSSIBLE FOR THE PRICE".

been rocking Diode Dynamics 6K HID's for over a year now, no problem at all

Using Diode Dynamics 5k and love them.. look white blue not yellow. Great customer service.

We offer a number of HID kits for the FR-S and all of our FR-S HID kits come with proper H11 connectors for best fitment with the OEM connections and wiring. If you have any questions about HID upgrades, feel free to contact us

Rough response. The stock non-HID projector housings aren't the worst and only HID purists truly would care. For $60-100, some 35w kits get the performance and 'look' a lot desire without ever having to crack open their headlights. The cutoff isn't blinding. It isn't a beautiful cutoff, but a lot of members here have obtained favorable results with bending the squirrel finders a little.

Bi-xenon retrofit is the most quality solution, but let's not act like throwing HIDs in these housings is sacrilage.

P.S I SEE YOUR EDIT SIR!

yeah, long day. decided I should probably rephrase that. drop-in HID's probably won't kill anyone. BRIGHTEST LIGHT FOR LEAST MONEY is still a troubling criteria, but whatever I guess

agreed. Watch the cutoff, adjust lights accordingly, and never ever get the 55w drop in solution for low beams.

Chimera 01-02-2015 02:28 PM

2nded, troubled by the criteria.
anyways IIRC if you want the most useable light output you want like a 4300k or a 5k. 6k's look nice, but are more 'blue'.
anyways, There's loads of good info out there, but the vendors mentions here are all reputable and will help you find a product that meets your needs.

APP or if you got the budget Bellof.

We would also advise to avoid 55w HID kits. Just FYI, the Scion FR-S does not require CANBUS ballasts so a quality 35w digital HID kit would be the bang for your buck.

So long as the squirrel finders are bent, it's tolerable, but it's still nothing on a true HID projector. They lack width for starters, but sure, they're better than the idiots in trucks with reflector setups.
Here's with the squirrel finders left alone.

A quality 35-watt HID conversion kit works well in the factory housings, substantially better than a PnP kit will in a reflector style housing. If you are looking for a professional to retrofit your housings with a projector, feel free to send us a PM

We are currently running 5000K HIDs in our low-beams, and our new Luxeon LED replacement housings for the fog lights:

This is with just the fog lights (perfect output pattern, and sharp cutoff)

I got a kit from phastek and I think I paid about 95 bucks for the kit. Ended up going with the 6k, kinda wishing I went for the 5k though. I'm quite pleased with it. Only downside is that it didn't come with 3M tape to secure the ballasts.
