That's horrible. At least you're alive and well. The car can be replaced, life can't.

I assume it's totaled?

HolyAssertion 01-02-2015 02:20 AM

Don't have word yet.
The impact wasn't bad to me thank you for srs airbags

DAEMANO 01-02-2015 02:21 AM

Hope that was a bad luck stress relief on your fault line. No mas bad luck for 2015.

Sorry to see that - I was up in Dallas NYE and NY and the weather was awful, made me glad I wasn't in the BRZ.

pleong 01-02-2015 10:04 AM

oh man.. sorry to hear! Hope you're ok! If you need a good body shop, let me know. I know an excellent one that I take my car to.

PBlack09 01-02-2015 12:25 PM

Sorry to hear about that. I live right over there and I don't like that intersection.

A good body shop would be greatly appreciated.

I used Calliber Collision in plano when I got rear ended last winter. Highy recommend these guys. The manager called me every day to give me updates and everything was transparent. They also had a geico office inside their shop for handling insurance stuff if geico is the insurance that's being used. They also have a car rental in that same office.

If it's not a total loss take it to Complete Auto Body LLC

They have a shop in Plano and Arlington. Ask for Tommy or Roman and tell them I sent you. You can PM me if you have any questions or concerns. There are very few people I allow to touch my car and I trust them with my car.

They can arrange for a tow to come get it. You just need to fill out a release form. I would highly recommend them.

HolyAssertion 01-12-2015 05:29 PM

The body shop i took it too was in the middle of setting up an estimate. they are currently at 48% of value in repairs roughly 11k.
do you guys think i can push to get it totaled?

You can try to get an appraiser to look at the car and see if it can be written off, otherwise you are probably pretty low on the percentage side (I believe it's typically 70-75% of the car's value to be deemed a write off).

HolyAssertion 01-23-2015 03:20 AM

Well as an update there insurance company was only willing to pay 8k for 11k+ damages.
so i filed with my insurance statefarm.

I've had state farm in the past and they were great with claims. They will try to fight on your behalf to get more from the other insurance company. At least that was in my case.

Time to lawyer up.

I did not think the other insurance had the option to pay less than the repair estimate.

You might have to take your car to another shop and/or get your adjuster to value the damages.

Either your shop is way too high or their adjuster is way too low.

HolyAssertion 01-30-2015 01:49 PM

As an update state farm has totaled my car.

meWant 01-30-2015 02:47 PM
